CB500x .....in my near future?? Thinking out loud.

Re: CB500x ....arriving today !!!! Those look good! If I wanted hard luggage that is the direction I would go. I'm thinking of getting the rally raid racks for mine. http://www.rally-raidproducts.co.uk/honda-cb500x-cb500f?product_id=830

Re: CB500x ....arriving today !!!! I read somewhere in the big ADVRider thread that it counts up to 2.8 L which is the reserve so you cut it pretty close!

That pic is a NC700x, not the 500X

It's fine at highway speeds. If you at 120-130kph and you want to pass, you should probably go down a gear but otherwise fast enough. Power delivery is not exciting though obviously.

CB500x .....in my near future?? Thinking out loud.

My inseam is 30".i recently installed footpeg lowering blocks from Motowerk and they have helped a but, but haven't had a really long ride to test them out. I also might do the saddle from seat concepts, there are 2 versions, one which raises the seat height so it will give the legs a bit more...

CB500x .....in my near future?? Thinking out loud.

I have this bike too, although I must confess that I am one of those who are looking to upgrade in the future. Nothing against the bike, but it feels a wee bit too cramped for me for those really long days in the saddle. I also feel that I get blown about a bit on the highway, but no real...

Help me choose which one to buy.

Surprised that no one has mentioned this yet..... If you want ABS, get the Ninja, I believe it's not offered on the R3. Plus having ABS is a feature a lot of new buyers want (and in my opinion need) on their first bike, which will come in handy when you are selling.

    Renewal Suprize

Just got my renewal from TD, 38, clean record, no accidents/tickets/claims, full M, Honda CB500X, increased from 600 per year to 890.... All things considered, not as bad as some of the other quotes in this thread, but I think I'm still going to shop around.

    Adventure Bikes.

Yeah, that's my point about the cost. It does make the bike more capable, but for that money, you can always get a small used trail bike like a yamaha WR or a honda CRF which would be better off road. Even with the rally raid, In my opinion, the bike will be "limited" by the engine

    Adventure Bikes.

The Cb500X is a very capable bike, especially considering the price!! The engine is surprisingly smooth, and gets better with higher RPMs. For me personally though, I wish it was a bit bigger, right now it feels scaled to 7/8. I took one short trip in the summer (2000 + kms in 2 and a half...

    Anyone use AirBnB here?

Used them twice on my trip end of august... Had good experiences with both. I would say look carefully at the reviews before you decide between places. If you value your privacy, it may or may not be good, for instance, the first night the guy I rented from left me alone, and I had an entire...

    RAV4 or Forester

If you are looking to tow, look at the new Jeep Cherokee.... has a decent towing rating compared to other compact SUVs, plus has a V6 option if you are looking for more power.
