Guess I should have spent a bit more on a better one. It got good reviews, so figured it would be ok. Maybe I just got the (bad) luck of the draw and got the 1/100 that is bad.
Status update:
I still had my old battery, so I went and charged it to full so I'd have a replacement to test with. Went out to my bike, with the new battery still in and ignition off tested voltage and it read 12.5v. Turned the ignition over (nothing happened on dash, as expected) and the...
Thanks for all the responses. First thing I did was check the connectors on the terminals, and they were on nice and tight. I even removed the connectors going to the 12v socket I have wired up to ensure it wasn't somehow drawing any power.
I'll try checking the grounding cable and the battery...
Hoping someone can help me figure out this problem that just kicked up today. My bike is a 2012 CBR250RA. New battery about 2-3 months back.
Rode into work fine, but when I reached there, stopped, and killed the engine while I went inside to get something, when I came back the dashboard was...
I had to do that exact same thing (also on same bike) in the parking lot of the drive test centre to take my M2 exit test (with the instructor waiting for me) because I had my tail bag on and am too fat these days to jump over that. Thing is I had to actually give it gas to keep going, otherwise...
Hey Frekey. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't saying anything to discredit you at all, I trust you have a great deal of knowledge & experience, and completely understand your logic behind the conclusion. I also understand that it wouldn't have been feasible to do the whole dismantle to check at that...
Thanks for the follow up and the concern. Yes, I did take frekey up on his offer. He was kind enough to give it a quick look over, and he basically came to the same conclusion as you (boyoboy), that if since there was enough force to bend the rim then most likely the forks or triples got bent...
THIS!!! I literally would have needed to take a day off work just to be able to ever go there. Tried to go there both on a Saturday and just after 6PM on a weekday to find that out the hard way.
TYVM, you just saved me a major headache. Was going to try to rush there when I get off work at 5...
Just wanted to come back and report that I believe I've eliminated the rotor drag. I went back on Thurs evening and give the whole wheel install another go. This time I pumped the pistons almost entirely out so I was able to clean them entirely. I also picked up and added some brake lube to the...
I'm back. Good news is I was able to ride my bike into work today, however I still have a few issues/concerns related to this. Quite simply, this whole thing has been a bit of a nightmare.
So I went home yesterday, cleaned the caliper pistons to be nice and shiny. Put them back on, and exact...
Yeah, was planning on doing this today. Didn't have any brake cleaner last night, and was pushing 2AM, so decided to hold off until today. Picked some up earlier so I'm good to give this a go when I get home.
I don't have a dedicated balancer tool, but I did my visual inspection by spinning...
Yes. I know the forks could have also been bent. Again, everything looks fine by visual inspection, and I intend to get the bike checked over, but would like to try to do as much of the work as I can so I can learn.
So I just had to replace the front rim on my bike (after the original one being damaged in a low-side), and after installing the reconstructed wheel on the bike, I'm getting some friction between the brake pads and the rotor and wondering if it's fine, or what to do.
At first, there was a LOT...
