    Courts

Thanks for the responses. My question was actually more personal to me as I got a ticket on Saturday. I was trying to find out if the courts are still jammed as I might roll the dice, plead not guilty and hope that the ticket will get dismissed should the courts delay a trial beyond a...

    Courts

I was talking to my daughter. She picked up a speeding ticket 3 years ago and has heard nothing. I know Covid backed up the courts and delays such of this have become normal, with many cases being dismissed. Are the courts still jammed today, such that I could expect to submit an 11(B)...

    Speeding - Would You Fight?

My record has been clean for years. I normally fight every ticket as I am aware that insurers count convictions so 5 over is the same as 49 over. That's the only reason to fight. I've won by questioning if the speed measuring device was tested before and after the shift and my officer at...

    Speeding - Would You Fight?

I was stopped for 25 over today. The officer knocked it down to 5 over. Would I be an ass to fight it? I'm fully aware that insurance doesn't care what I was doing as the conviction is what they're seeking, thus the reason to fight. If I plead guilty, any ballpark on the effect on...

    Motorcycle Supershow Reviews 2024 Edition

I lasted less than half an hour. Do yourself a favour and clean your bike instead this weekend and take a pass or visit your favourite bike shop, you'll have a far better experience. No new bikes, as mentioned by Gary, the Harley show had me run for the door. Free admission would still be too...

    Sleep apnea and driver license

I just recently purchased a machine. I was told 7 years ago in a sleep study that I had severe sleep apnea and I couldn't stomach the thought of wearing a mask to bed with all the tubes. Fast forward to a couple a months ago and I was having panic attacks in bed so the machine felt like a...

Interesting day in court, I think I'm going to appeal

Have to admit, I hate answers like this. Didn't know you were God. Sorry but many of us like to defend, our right as Canadians, so let the OP seek advice without a nanny on his/her shoulder. End of rant.

Cruiser with radar in a group of cars

That's interesting. Great insight, thank you.

Cruiser with radar in a group of cars

That was my thinking. The officer's notes were quite extensive including testing before and after his shift. Thank you and Brian P for your confirmation.

Cruiser with radar in a group of cars

Odd title, let me explain. How accurate is an officer's radar if he/she is driving in the middle of a group of cars and you are on-coming toward the group on a two lane highway, i.e. one lane each way, 80 kph zone?

Updated Green P mobile app includes street parking now

Free parking will be ending soon. Green P is a client of mine and I asked the question today. Likely we'll be paying this spring.

Question About "Disobey Sign" Ticket (how boned am I?)

Fwiw, I got nailed many years ago for speeding. The cop asked for the usual license, registration and insurance. When he came back with the ticket, he reached into the car and said "See you in court". I was a model citizen that day so his attitude got to me. Against the wishes of my numerous...

    Bicycle Wheelie

Just thinking, if I pulled a wheelie on my bicycle while riding down the street, could I get pulled for stunting and a Section 172? Bicycles are treated as vehicles under the HTA, so why not?

    Don't tell mom...

Looks like she'll lose her license anyway based on this post. She wasn't going to fight it, maybe now she should. Thanks everyone for your comments.
