    RoadAwareness.org - New Articles

Moto Crashes on the Rise It’s not much of a leap of logic to realize that with the arrival of Spring, motorcycle crashes are on the rise. This happens every year around this time – more bikes on the road equals more bikes involved in crashes. Although what’s bothersome about this is that...

Digital Video Cameras should be mandatory in new vehicles

In the most simple of terms...I agree with you and it's a good thing neither of us live in London, England which hosts more CCTV cameras than any other city. They do little to prevent crime but because of them, they greatly succeeded in capturing criminals. The question really does come down to...

Digital Video Cameras should be mandatory in new vehicles

In part Rob. I didn't say that fatalities are increasing. I said crashes are. In fact fatalities have steadily decreased in Canada over the past decade. Crashes however have increased. Digital Video Cameras should be mandatory in new vehicles

Digital Video Cameras should be mandatory in new vehicles

You are on public roads driving a vehicle, which is a privilege not a right, subject to public scrutiny. Or should we not go out in public with all those CCTV cameras around?

Digital Video Cameras should be mandatory in new vehicles

The point is to assist in determining what went wrong. Once that's established, ways can be found for improvements. There was a time when seat belts weren't required either but much data was collected in researching how they could help save future lives (including video) and eventually they...

Digital Video Cameras should be mandatory in new vehicles

I have two digital cameras in my car and I hit record every time I drive. One points forward out the windshield, the other one points back at me and covers in interior of the car. If the footage can be provided to your ER team quickly enough it may. But like I said in the article, it could...

Digital Video Cameras should be mandatory in new vehicles

No no...my opinion in this case isn't from the point of view of 'surveillance' but rather as an important tool in crash scene investigation, research, training and assisting the medical community. I was simply throwing out that Mirrors and seatbelts weren't always present on on vehicles and they...
