my gixxer is a 2002. they didnt put the plug towards the back of the pan till 2005. my plug is dead center on the bottom. I can remove without messing with the fairings.

my issue is how to tap and insert while the pan is on the bike. putting it on the stand only gained me a couple of inches. Also the idea in my head is why not utilize the 1/2" of existing threads that are already inside the hole. Its a second chance and if I ever strip those out then I can...

Apparently a crank pulley bolt for a Honda Civic will do the trick also as its m14 X 1.25 X 35mm long. Im sourcing one now and may be able to use that instead of trimming the spark plug.
