    TV shows currently watching

+1 Amazing show. I love Charlie Brooker's twisted mind.

    Mae Hong Son Loop

I was in the area a long time ago as a backpacker, so not an expert opinion, but...Chiang Mai is way closer and has lots of motorbike shops. I can't even imagine riding in Bangkok. Craziness!

If you could live anywhere in Canada, where would it be?

Yup. Especially in the evening light, cornfields on either side, with your shadow riding alongside you...

If you could live anywhere in Canada, where would it be?

I'd like to move out to Stratford in the next 5 years. That will put me on the wrong side of 50 (!!!!), and by then I think I'll be ready to escape the GTA. It's got great restaurants and theatre, and even a small university campus, so it doesn't feel like a retirement community. And plenty of...

Scenic gravel roads in Grey County

I rode up to Flesherton the other day and rode some of the routes listed in this article. Very pretty countryside with lots of autumn foliage. Some of the roads are very narrow and have no shoulders, and there's loose gravel in spots. But I had them all to myself--other than the side-by-side ATV...

    Riding in Japan

Really looking forward to the ride report! :)

    PSA- Beware Kijiji Scum

Liens, attempted scams, impersonating a police officer...all that trouble for a bike he rode only 1,400 km. I just don't get some people.

    Trail tours, horrible experience!

My wife and I went to Smart Adventures a couple of years ago. She was a complete novice and my dirt skills sucked; by the end of the day she was riding easy trails and I was getting some air off of jumps. Great instruction and very positive coaches. Loved it. I did a day with Trail Tours with a...

Oakville to Picton Cruise - Suggestions?

It's worth getting off the highway and riding the old Lakeshore Road (not #2!) from Newcastle to Port Hope. Good restaurants there for a lunch stop. Prince Edward County is pretty, but there's not much in the way of twisty roads. Just follow the shore and enjoy the view. I'd bring an insulated...

Cross US (and a bit of west coast Canada) tour

You ain't kidding! Lots of great curves. Can't speak for the scenery because I was so focused on the road. And Jerome is a really cool place. Much more interesting than Sedona.

That sounds awesome! (Sorry for the thread hijack...)

    1903 | A Harley-Davidson® Café

I feel exactly the same way. We moved to St. Clair/Oakwood a couple of years ago, and I kind of like the grit. Some good neighbourhood bars and restaurants, but enough dives and weirdos that the designer-stroller brigade still steers clear. First Starbucks moved in a few months ago, so it won't...

Toronto to Halifax and Cabot Trail

Halifax is just another city. Check out Lunenburg if you've got the time. Very pretty with nice restaurants. You can take a sea kayaking tour if you've got the time. If you like Celtic music, stop in at The Red Shoe pub in Mabou (SW Cape Breton). It's owned by the Rankin family. Baddeck's...

    Vstrom seat recommendations

Baldwin Motorcycle Saddles http://www.motorbikesaddles.com/ Very good service. Product quality is excellent. They do a "core swap"-- instead of sending your saddle in for modification, they build up a saddle they already have in the shop. You mail them your stock saddle when you receive the new...
