    We laugh at them, but...

In Toronto, no, it's legal. In Toronto it is only illegal to ride a bicycle on the sidewalk if the wheels are 20 inches in diameter or greater. Most e-scooters use 16" tires on 12" rims. EDIT: I'm certainly not recommending it or saying it's a good idea, but it is, at the very least, legal.

    We laugh at them, but...

I do this - it's fun and gets me where I need to as long as I confine myself to short distance trips. If it's 3 C or above, the real bike comes out, but down to about -10 C or so, the e-bike is generally manageable unless it's unusually icy... snow and slush are not an issue. The thing's light...

Gs500 owners. Can you message me

This is a pretty commonly described problem over on the gstwins.com forum, go search for 'hanging idle' there. Causes seem to vary but it frequently seems to be an air leak.

Thanks for the links and advice guys, should help me a lot. :)

500 cc cruiser to a 500 cc sportbike

1500 miles is suspiciously low for a 2007 bike. If I were you, I would want to make extra sure that everything's working properly (carbs/fuel system most of all, since those are the part that's most likely to gunk up while sitting) and that it's been stored properly.

Storing Bike With The Tank Off

Thanks for the product recommendations, I'll check out the epoxy stuff. Still haven't picked the exact product I'm going to use. Hachi-Roku, yeah, why not? I want to solve the problem at the source, but just route around it with a temporary solution. As mentioned, I'm gonna be painting it...

Storing Bike With The Tank Off

Okay, so, here's the story - I have a GS500F with a bit of rust in the inner edges of the as tank (I bought it used, and given that it's a 2007 that I bought with approx 800 miles (US bike, odo/speedo in miles) on it in March, I'm pretty sure it spent a while stored improperly). So, over the...

Draing the Carbs - Where can I get a tube?

I also have a GS500F. I went to John's Photo & Hobby @ 2188 Danforth Ave. in Toronto (johnshobbies.ca). They have two kinds of fuel hose (intended for remote controlled planes, etc) - a blue kind and a yellow kind. The yellow kind is for gasoline, the blue kind is for ethanol, so get yellow...

Legal to be drunk on an e-bike?! WTF!!

A (non-electric) bicycle is definitively not a 'motor vehicle' according to either the criminal code or the HTA. If you start at the top of the hill, and your bicycle has a freewheel, a bicycle is just as capable of being propelled by gravity as the GT Snow Racer. So... if the bicycle isn't a...

    lane splitting and cagers honking

If you mean driving in the portion of the rightmost lane not taken up by the cars parked there, yes. It is a lane, and you are allowed to drive in it. As I understand it, if someone opens their door and it causes an accident while you are doing this, insurance fault determination rules render...

Legal to push bike on sidewalk engine off?

Yeah, it's ridiculous. I'm sure I'm not the only one who likes to have a couple of beers while I do maintenance on my bike, and depending on the particular maintenance I'm doing I may very well want to have the keys in my possession and possibly even start the engine (on the centre stand, in my...

Check out this concept retro yamaha 125 => 188 mpg

I might be wrong but from looking at it it seems to me like it would probably actually be pretty decent on snow/ice, at least at sub-highway speeds, if you put studded tires on it. I mean, it almost looks like a bicycle (not insulting it, it looks great), and you see bicyclists in snow/ice all...

Motorcycle Parking Fees Recommended without Notice or Public Consultation

Re: City council voting on getting rid of free parking for motorcycles today Unless I'm missing something, the vote counts in the link I gave, taken today, seem to suggest that the motion to produce a report on this passed.
