Both Furkot and Basecamp have steep learning curves, but once you figure them out, they become relatively easy. To be honest, I prefer BC than Google maps. Used Mapsource for a long time and then changed over to BC on a Mac and still enjoy using it.

I'm in the Pickering area and interested in some rides as well.

Also check Motorcycle Innovations. A Google search should bring him up. You may get free delivery dependant on where you are located.

Well you should at least have your own helmet, jacket, gloves and boots for sure prior to you learning to ride. You say you live in Ireland, so are you local at the moment - if so, there are a few bike shops that you can go to to try on different styles that would suit your style of bike/riding.

Welcome. Always ride within YOUR limits. If there is a line-up behind you, pull over, let them pass and then move on. A lot safer than just speeding up to keep up with speed of traffic. Or ride off-peak days/times.
