Looking at a pair of John Doe riding jeans. Reviews I could find seemed good. Anyone riding em now?

I have two pairs - one cargo and one light blue jeans for hot weather. It’s ok, the jeans are pretty light for AAA rating (if you believe it).
Worst part - very small knee pads, very hard to find a perfect position while riding - too high or too low. I replaced the cargo pants’ knee pads with Apls bigger ones, as small knee pads in baggy pants are a disaster…
Later I bought Spidi AAA jeans and now wear those the most - more comfortable, knee pads “full size” - side‑to‑side wide, long enough to stay in the proper place. I’d suggest trying them on - and not only standing but sitting on the bike - comfort beats any fancy features/look every time.
