Sadly, I give them a 1% chance of production and 0% chance of production for long. The brand is so focused on old pirates that it is unable to do anything else. They will die with their customers. Bikes that don't fit their stereotypical mold need to be released under a sub-brand. Let the giant dealer network support them.

If that bike is based on the Pan-Am ST, I`d stick with it or the ADV style Pan-Am. That thing is seriously fugly.

Maybe when BMW Motorrad and Ducati get sold off to Bajaj or other Indian companies, H-D can hook up with them.
The Street series tanked quickly, the Livewire is pretty much fried, bad pun, and even the Pan-Am`s are sneered at by the faithful. The Bronx may have had a chance and I`d bet this new cafe bike will be a no show. Seems H-D is really stuck in a ditch, the new Super Glide is beautiful... but. The upcoming 883 Sporty will likely be primarily focused on an under 10K U.S. price point. If anyone can purchase me a high 30`sK Low Rider ST, in orange please, that would be great.I prefer the looks of the old one. Its design was influenced by the XR750 and though it didn't sell well at the time it is a classic.
The new one looks like it's on stilts. It's going to spend even less time off-road that the PamAm so why does it need to sit so high?
In the end I don't care that much since I won't be buying one, but I agree that it will probably be a marketing miss.
Is the PanAm a sales success? I've seen a couple since their introduction but only a couple.

i have been hearing rumors of VW wanting to sell off ducati amidst their financial woes...this seems to be the path for all the non japanese manufacturers...
The trademark filing is promising. If they are smart they’ll green-light it….its had a LOT of positive feedback online and from people who have seen it in person. I think it’s gorgeous.
That being said, as Glenn mentioned, I’ll also take an orange Low Rider ST if someone is offering….

They`re a collectible now, I rode one once. Put politely... an interesting dog.
As far as HD goes I'd either take one of those or an 883 Sporty nothing else they have to offer really excites me.

I`m interested in what the re-born Sporty will be. It could potentially be a fun bike, I`ve ridden a few stage one or hot-rodded 883`s and 1200`s that were a blast. Will H-D stick with the slammed rear end, tiny tank, pegs in front of the engine etc. or deliver a proper roadster?

Pretty successful, it’s a newcomer in the market of established big ADV players. Pan Am’s outsell KTM (1390), Triumph (Tiger 1200), Ducati (Multistrsta), and Suzuki (Vstrom 1050). Only BMW GS and Honda AT sell more.
That’s impressive considering Harley entered the adventure segment only 5 years ago… the others have been there for more than 2 decades.
Good to hear that. More options / choice in any segment is always good.
Sadly I’ve seen maybe 2-3 in my lifetime on the road.
Same here. Maybe only 1; 2 at most.
I look at any sport bike and think the exact same thing no matter the manufacture
