Finally got the Wing down to St Thomas for the first this year on Friday night. It was a little slow getting passes. Twice they to push an old Volvo wagon back out of the burnout box. Then a car caught fire way down the track.
First pass I was slow off the line and blew a shift. Second pass was respectable but heading back up the return road the bike started making some noise and by the time I was back in the pits the motor was spinning fine but the transmission was sounding like a bag of hammers.
Right about then the announcer started talking about a car on it's roof. Turns out the shiny green Mustang that was pitted next store to us was going home less shiny. We saw the driver shortly after with just a red mark on his neck from the harness.
That last pass was my 16th or 17th pass on this Wing. My last Wing went well over 60 and was running fine when I sold it.
I guess now I get to see what the inside of that boxer motor looks like.
