New HD CEO has a Plan.............

Some people follow religions that have preached the same sermons forever.

Some people buy time shares and vacation in the same place every year.

Some eat the same thing for breakfast and pick the same donut.

Predictable and reliable isn't all bad. They stick by the same beer, same bike and same spouse.
Same bike?? Surely you're not serious.

YES!

Was just checking FB ads for a 2006 VRSCR.

Just for funsies, though. No garage space left, and there is a laundry list of bikes I'd get before that Harley, but I've always liked the V-Rod and that Street Rod has those higher mid-mount controls. 40° of lean angle! 🤘

I really liked the Street Rod too, and went in to (then) Mackie's in Oshawa to look at it when it came out.

It was sitting off to the side, but still fairly obvious. As I was looking at it a salesman came over and started a conversation, during which he referred to it as, "A Harley for the full face helmet crowd." It didn't really come across as a positive remark. When I said I didn't have enough in the bank to buy it he enthusiastically mentioned that they have in-store financing and most of his customers take them up on the 7 or 8 year loan plans (!!!!!).

I asked about maintenance intervals and costs, and he said the first service was due at 1000k, was a mandatory visit for the warranty and would cost about $1000. I said that seemed really expensive, to which he replied "It is, but most of our customers don't come in for it for 8 to 12 months."

Apart from the pan america, are there harley models that dont have super short suspension stroke that jarr your spine everytime you hit a small bump?

LOL!

I picked up my GS on a Friday. Immediately booked the 1K km appointment for the following Tuesday, the first day the shop re-opened after the weekend...

I overheard a sales person at HD tell a customer full face helmets can lead to a broken neck.

Loud pipes save lives.

But full face helmets and having abrasion resistant material cover your shoulders, elbows and arms is not safe.

At all.
Leather is dangerous as it is tough and can catch on a rough surface such as pavement, causing you to tumble and flail. Fabric lets you slide so just wear a tee shirt and jeans.

Flip flops will never twist your foot so there's the answer, beanie, flip flops, tee shirt and jeans.

However staying hydrated is important so carry a six pack in your tank bag.

I had a VROD for 10 years. Purchased new in '14 for 22k. Loved the bike despite it shortcomings but nothing soured me more on Harley than the negative dealership experiences and twat Harley owners.

Wanted to trade it in on a PanAm. Dealer offered me 9.5k, saying nobody wanted it and wouldn't budge on the PanAm price. Sold it privately a week later on Kijiji for 16k and never went back to the dealership. I ride a Versys now.

Is the Versys the 1000 or 650?
