Stripped stuck allen/hex screws Aurora/Newmarket

Need help from someone mechanically inclined in my area, these handlebar side screws are stuck pretty firmly and I stripped both sides trying to get them off to add side mirrors 😭
Just checking if someone local can help, before I go to the dealer and they charge me $100+ per hour.

Drill the heads off so you can get some vise grips on the shank of the bolt.

You want a drill bit slightly smaller than the head of the stripped bolt.

Once the caps are off, I would suggest soaking the splitnut that inside the bar with penetrating oil before you use the visegrips.

Thx for responding so quickly ☺️
I need those round corner weights after, and the screws are set into it so can’t grab from the side.
No.... you just drill off the screw head.

Once the head of the screw is gone, the bar end weights come off and you can grab the threaded part of the bolt.

I agree with SC's path. If you want to play with fire you can pound a torx in and use that to turn out the screws. If you break off the torx, you are in a world of hurt and it makes drilling much harder.

Ah okay, I see what you mean. I’m a little afraid to cause more damage, as I’ve scratched the weight on the right side already. 😬

What if I epoxy glue the allen key to it?
I give that almost a zero percent chance. Epoxy doesn't have much to grab onto in screw. Don't do it.

If you try the torx way, a rubber strap wrench around the weight turning at the same time as a wrench on the torx may help to break it free. Once it starts moving you should be in good shape.

I wouldn't be at all concerned with a scratch on the weight. While it's off, hit it with black spray paint and it will mostly disappear.

That is all definitely beyond my skill set. I covered with a rag and tried to lefty-loosey the weight, which is how we ended up with the scratches haha

Actually, the screw is probably rusted inside. Royal Enfield doesn’t seem to have the best quality of screws etc..the mirrors I took off aren’t going back on either
