GTAM Holiday Dinner - Sat, Jan 10th, 2026 (post moto show)

Thanks @Evoex for arranging, and great seeing everyone!

And from my inner food critic:

Dinner was off to a good start. I asked for a "Coke and lime", and the waiter asked "Is Pepsi ok?" I answered "Yeah, that's actually better" and joked "But you know what would be even better is if you had Dr Pepper". He caught me off guard by saying "Oh, we have that too." Awesome!

The bread came out lightly toasted, and the butter was whipped. No dealing with cold lumps and waiting for it to melt.

And the peppercorn steak came out properly encrusted all around with cracked black peppercorns. Nice and sharp as opposed to a lot of places that serve their "peppercorn" steaks as just a plain steak with a peppery sauce. A perfect medium rare, as requested. I didn't take a pic, but that's what the internet is for!

@GreyGhost needs to post a pic of his tiny prime rib, though.
Yeah also made my head spin to learn you could order 'any' steak on the menu and turn it into a 'keg classic'. Many a time i've missed out on the peppercorn ny strip because it wasn't listed there when i felt like a Caesar to start.

I just had to take a picture of that side of cow.

i did that one last year. i got through more than what the others at my table first guessed. Still couldn’t finish it
I was able to get through 95% of it.
I only left the fatty/chewy parts. If I tried to eat those, then the 95% already consumed would come back up on to the table. 🤮🤮

It was my first time there.
It is really nice inside.

Might be a good spot for a date night.
Blue Bloods (Casa Loma)
Hys (Bay & Richmond)

Also exceptional interior spaces

I typically don't order steak at restaurants as I can get good quality steaks at home without the premium quality pricing.

These guys sell to many high end restaurants in the GTA.

I know the owner and can get the stuff direct .

In fact they also sell to the public if anyone is interested.

Margins aren't that high, Head Chef once told me it was 7%

Huh. That's right behind the Dundas & 403 Tims. There's an idea. Ride around Milton. Stop for a coffee, then 'take out'.

Oh, looking at the in-store menu, looks to be all whole sale.

Could be

However,

I know if a story where an $80 tenderloin (8-10oz) at a nice restaurant in TO is the same meat that I could (at the time) get for less then $20 from WM.
Just as the $200 Wagyu was the same meat as the $80 direct.

I don't think you can eat there. Just pick up.

Unless you like raw meat. You can it in the parking lot.

Throw a boat bbq on where the top box normally mounts. Crankcall probably has some.
Might be an idea for a Burger night.

We went to a hockey tournament recently, we noticed a family "tailgating" in the parking lot.
Small BBQ hooked up to a regular size propane tank.
I didn't stick around so I'm not sure if they had beers.
