Would anyone know more about this gentleman ? His name is Len Duckworth. All I know is that he was CMA President from 1951 – 1953. I would like to find race results for him. He raced primarily in the 30s and 40s. He was once the owner of Len Duckworths Fish and Chips and his family still operates two stores in Toronto.

Some of the Duckworth family that still own and operate their restaurant at Kingston and Danforth went to my high school and I believe still live in the area. I had no idea of the connection to motorcycling and there is no motorcycle memorabilia or photos of him. It’s actually very plain and modest but have served the best fish and chips for decades.
“Barr Hodgeson’s Superbike Centre” was almost next door in the 70’s. Barr lives about 10 minutes north of me on HWY. 12 in Myrtle Station. Apparently he has the largest motorcycle collection in Canada.

Lang Hindle lived about a block away directly behind Duckworth’s , it’s where he started his aftermarket exhaust business out of his garage in the early eighties on Heale Street.Robbie Robertson of The Band also lived a block or two away on Atlee as a child and almost certainly would have eaten there. It was a great neighborhood to grow up in if you were into bikes.

Every Friday nite at my grandparents place Warden and Danforth. Yum.

Best fish and chips in the city.
Kingston road or the other one? The brothers split long ago and each took a store. Kingston road husband and wife are still doing the work after decades. I love that place. They are friendly, I am sure they would be happy to talk.

I grew up near the one on Kingston Rd. and as I said one of the family, Dave Duckworth I believe, went to my high school, RH King. I didn’t know him personally but we had mutual friends. However in high school I did know a few girls that were waitresses there in the late seventies and they made some serious cash in tips.Much more than they would have anywhere else.
