Hypermotard V2

here in ONtario I've noticed all demo rides switched to "Charity events" - I think all of them require to "donate" $50 min now, I think "charity" label allows them to avoid having "new bike rental services" taxes (?) and if they only give 1% to charity, the rest can cover their costs - GP Bikes had water and apples adn snack bars at their stand... I don't mid this game and it does cut down number of cheap tire-kickers too, so it was easy to do 2-3 models demo same day as there were less ppl.. I just wish ALL the functionality and tech was allowed to be tested...

I think it's a city vs rural thing.

In Toronto, too many anonymous people that the dealers don't know coming in.

In this small town, all the dealers here know their customers intimately. They know their finances, their riding skill, etc. They know who they can trust to take their bikes out, who's going to be responsible, who are or aren't tire-kickers etc. Most of all, they know where you live...

Every time I walk into a dealership they are literally throwing keys at me.

I am thinking more and more to move to BC (among many other places) - what's the small town you are talking about here, curious to see it on the map...

Let me know when you get here.

I'll take you out to all the good roads/trails:

Nice!!, that always was a plan to ride West cost mountains back-forth especially now when my daughter lives and works in Banff Springs,,, had to be last year but things changed (a lot) for me with quitting my job and other middle life crisis events LOL.
So summer 2027 is a new realistic goal - so you will need to stick htere until then :)

I think I can manage that!

BTW, we have a track nearby as well.

Pic included so we don't stray too far away from the topic:

Almost 30 lbs lighter than the 950. Holy frack, that's a game changer! I never minded the weight of my bike, but less weight on a hooligan bike is always welcome.

The 950 is supposedly 30 lb heavier than the original 1100, so the new bike's weight isn't really a game changer from that perspective. The new model brings it back to the original weight, but with only 890 cc, it won't compare to the torque curve of the 1100. Sure, it has the latest technology, but having owned an 821 Hyper and being utterly unimpressed with the torque, I was really hoping they'd go up in displacement to get back to the Hyper's roots, but I guess that ship has sailed with all the larger motors being pahsed out for V4's.

Never got to ride the 1100 but by all accounts, it was quite a beast.

Think @Wingboy had an 1100?

F00k, a Hyper V4 would be awesome!

I had played around with the idea of a 10/1198 swap into my 821, but it was worth too much to butcher.

Here's Wookie's:

Wow!

I've been to Pikes Peak before. That's a perfect Hypermotard road!

I just checked, you're right. The 1100 and 950 are almost exactly the same weight.

Depends on the year and model - later Evo models were lighter. I guess Google didn't factor in the change in weight measurement (dry/wet, no fuel), so about 15 lbs lighter than the lightest 1100 (not counting the NCR Leggera):

1100 = 395 dry
1100S = 390 dry
1100 Evo = 379 dry
1100 Evo S = 377 - theoretically 405 wet, no fuel assuming 33 lbs differnce on the 950 minus 5 for no coolant
950 = 392 dry / 425 wet, no fuel
950 SP = 388 dry / 421 wet, no fuel
V2 = 397 wet, no fuel
V2 SP = 390 wet, no fuel
