Indeed. Hopefully this week.
This is some of the 9yr old gas/tea/varnish. Particle free though, and I can't see a spec of rust inside the tank.View attachment 73920
There was about 2L of leftover gas that I removed today, and the petcock was bone dry, and operational.
Tomorrow.....the gas tank gets a soapy bath, rinse and an isopropyl rinse.
The Hawk is a bad example since it was overbuilt/underpowered at 647cc and 45 HP. You can get a reliable 70 HP (at the wheels), but much more than that results in a broken (stock) crank and/or rods.

It's ALIVE.
Thanks to the Millgrove Magician (if you know, you know), the little CB1 fired up today, after sitting since 2014. So glad.
Fork seals & tires later this week & safety asap after that.
Gettin' itchy.

When it was time to man handle the FJR's around the garage, or driveway, or anywhere, I always thought I was going to end up in the hospital. What a pita it was.....at my age.
The little CB1 takes a bit more effort than my lawn mower to move around........other than the cramped riding position, it's a fun bike.....(my insurance is 66% less than my fjr's too)
Took The Red Barron out for a scoot along the parkway before taking a European Vacation. Really enjoy smooth, quiet and powerful. Handles great when in motion. Maneuvers around the garage and parking lot takes some patience and planning.
Looking forward to putting longer rides in this summer. I’m sure I’ll see some GTAM riders up at the forks or wherever when I’m back.
My journey of BMWs came to an unexpected halt. Decided to sell one and get the other one some fresh rubber. Well one sold and the other got dumped by the shop. After that, I didn’t want to ride it and kicked it to the curb.
What now? Found my next steed in Toronto and will take possession soon. It’s a one owner Brit bike. Pics will follow when I get her home. Or maybe I cursed myself by even mentioning it. lol.

Woah woah woah, hey now, back up. Just going to gloss over that and not tell us what happened?! That's like saying "I have a secret but I can't tell you." Don't tell us you have a secret, and don't tell us a shop dropped (crashed?) your bike badly enough that you don't want to ride it again, if you don't want to tell us the whole story lol
Overall, my posts are too long and wordy and the whole experience was a dogs breakfast. The shop is reputable and the incident was regrettable to everyone involved. Let’s just say the bike was in top condition and the cost to put it back would exceed the value of the bike itself.
It was a 98 K1200RS with 53k on the clock and well cared for by a mature owner reducing his stable due to health reasons.
Anyways, I did some reflection on how I intended to ride the machines I had. The K bike is a great tourer but any travel I’d do on the highways would generally be on a cage due to comfort from the elements.
So what kind of riding am I really looking for? It’s really to jump out to get the breeze through my knees and have a grin or two.
The 87 mono lever R80 would have satisfied that very much but, I had sold it with the intent to keep the K. Insuring and moving two bikes around the garage didn’t make sense.
I’m picking up the new to me bike tomorrow and will share some pick once it’s home.
Jesus I just wrote another novel and said diddly squat.
