Not giving up my Ural Gear Up, but i miss being on two wheels. Lots of bikes filled the blanks. KLR looked like a good idea, but i already have a "tractor".T7 was also on the list, but i already had a Tenere.
I wanted a bike with character and when i saw the Bear Mulder replica,i was very drawn to it. (It's very pretty). And then the price. $9549! Really?
I only have 40km on it, and limited to 4k rpm. But this bike is special. Build quality, paint is exceptional. No nanny crap. Rear abs can be switched off. Phone charge port on the side of the headlight All led lighting and a fantastic tft dash. Gps runs from your phone in the top half of the big display. Switchgear is the best i have seen. All metal.
Showa suspension front and rear. YT reviews complain of an overly stiff rear spring rate. I found it great.
I'm 5'9" and just flatfooting.
Bench, scrambler style seat is comfy (only 40km). Nice wide bars and beautifully shaped levers.
Mirrors are clear at highway speeds.
Motor is a surprise. It pulls really strong with no vibration.(270°crank)
I'll spend more time on it after the Easter weekend is over.

Very nice and look forward to a check in review after a few more miles and time on the saddle.

I get a Facebook feed of an east coast dealer that promotes RE and this specific model caught me eye.

I’ve also watched Adri’s vids on the his RE 650 twin and appreciate the feedback on the rear brake as well as how the finish looks after some time. However, that fell rides year round and subjects his machines to the elements which is a true test of quality but, for the folks like ,self being a fair weather rider, probably wouldn’t be an issue. Also, Adri’s isn’t a bear but, the gist of the bike.

Looking forward to some more pics out in the wilderness.

Cheers!

Break-in is done.660km on it now. Love the way it handles. Lots of folks say the suspension is too stiff. I like it. Might need to change the bars.A bit too wide and too far forward.Messed around with the built in navigation, but still could not get it to load. TeenTech at the first service showed me how. Tried to take a pic of it, but it flickers like an led in a video. It works awesome! All the great Google maps features on the top half of my instrument cluster.

Are these bikes still made in India?
That nav setup looks sweet!

For my next bike, navigation, cruise control and heated bars will be a must.
Yes. Made in India. The NAV is Google maps mirrored from your phone which is safely in a pocket. The build quality is as good or maybe a bit better than the "big 4".

Darcy & The Old man on YouTube recently picked one up too in case you want to follow along.

Thanks for the post. Exhaust......hmmm? I didn't catch what brand he picked.

He didn't say in that video. Even in the exhaust video, he didn't say clearly. Not hard to find from a close shot though.

Yep Mistral from Italy ... he had the same brand on his prior Moto Guzzi.
