2023 Suzukis (well, some of them anyway)

They don't even have schematics for the DR650 anymore, they're just seeing how long they can go until the tooling breaks

At least the 650 Savage is finally gone - not a moment too soon.
Suzuki lists 5 (count 'em 5) new machines for 2022, and 3 of those are just derivations.
They've stopped caring about the North American market, and it shows.

IDK, I'm still proud of 'em for actually bringing the new Katana to market. Was on the shortlist for a 2022 ride

read somewhere that their primary source of revenue is car sales in india, they also pulled out of motogp after winning

They dont care about motorcycles.

They still care about small bore motorcycles in the Asian market. Dieselgate in Europe isn't helping their bottom line any.

I sometimes wonder how long Suzuki will stay in the MC business. Most of the lineup is really old... only cosmetic changes for the most part, and the lineup is being leaned out.

ADVs - Vstroms been around in more or less the same for 18 years.
Cruisers - Boulevard lineup is 15-25 years old
Dual sports - DRs are 20+ years old

Small bikes -- gone, no little DR200, TU250, GSX250, or Vstrom250 .

Sport and street bikes have seen more updates.

GSXRs haven't changed much in what, 10 years ?

gsxr1000 had a major engine change a few years back. some innovative variable valve timing that didn't really perform. not sure about the rest of the bike (chassis).
the 600 would be around 10 years but the whole class is like that.

2017 was the update. VVT and an MV Agusta headlight and a smaller, overpriced bike. The update wasn't enough. The GSX-R 1000 looks like a toy now compared to the BMW S1000RR. Which is ironic as the S1000RR was stolen from Suzuki's K5.

I don't know what to say about the new 'busa...some people like the new version. They aren't going to sell a lot of them.

There's nothing exciting about Suzuki anymore. What a shame to let this once legendary company go to ****. Perhaps they should sell the motorcycle division to a company who cares.

The guy formerly known as Mladin.
