Full M licence (not m1 typo)) 7 year old charge and insurance concerns
tl/dr
got speeding ticket, crooked cop, - ended up getting too sick (unrelated) too fight it so I just sucked up the suspension, fine and charge.\
could of handled it better but didn't
so suspension is long gone (36mo), fines paid in full but the only thing stopping me from riding again is my fear of how much my insurance will be.
Am I legally required to disclose a a racing charge 7 years ago if asked by an insurer
is it on my permanent insurance record accessible to any insurance company.
I am almost 60 with a clean 40 year auto insurance record and no other bike tickets.
i stopped driving altogether after my bike ticket and sold my car.
I know the lapse in having any sort of insurance will be costly to reinstate for a bike.
I am only looking at getting a 500cc boring runaround but not if my insurance is 15k a year.
Any advice would be appreciated even if you know someone I can phone to talk about this stuff to or opinions on my story

I assume you did not get your m2 or full m? You need to decide on a bike you like, get a vin for an accurate quote and call to see prices. Get quoted as m2 if you don’t have your full m. Forget getting quoted as m1.

i believe some insurers may ask about tickets, claims and suspensions for the last 6 years. if it was 7 years ago i think you`re in the clear, but they will treat you as a new rider again. Your age may be a benefit to a lower rate, maybe not until the 2nd year though.

thanks you guys! It typo ed the m1, I have a full M already.\

just wasn't sure if a racing charge stuck to your re
record longer than 3 years...like 5? idk

re: I have to ask, why 'crooked cop'?

I am undeniably guilty of speeding over 60kph and i accept all my deserved crap
begins with MY poor decision making....BUT, but without some secret ion drive:
NO UNMODIFIED 2110 HONDA CB f (YES F not rr) CAN ACCELERATE FROM a dead stop at a stop sign TO 124km/h IN 100 METRES.
100 metres was the distance on the police report
I am a dentist and not a theoretical physicist but I cannot do the math that was suggested by the cop,(who may well be a theoretical physicist)
so don't hate all cops
can accept my role as guilty of speeding over 60
but perhaps inept is a better descriptive term than crooked. No, crooked fits.

I was sitting beside my allstate rep while he was checking my insurance history. We could see everything about me & claims etc, back to the 1980's.

With a full M and your age you should be fine. Don’t provide them any info you don’t have to, if they find something just simply say that you forgot or thought it was not relevant! Try cooperators, they gave me a fantastic price on a rocket ship! Which I ride sloooooow!

As with many things in life. Provide honest answers only to the questions being asked. I am sure they will see it on your record but will only ask about it if it is a concern to your ability to obtain insurance. If they ask about the "racing" answer honestly in as few words as possible.

Yeah I wouldn't worry. They only seem to care (for quoting purposes) about the last 3 years. If you sign up and they get your full report going back a long time, big deal, they won't increase your premium as long as you were truthful about the last 3 years.

Sorry OP - hoping you get this all sorted out.

Sucks that you had a cop tag you for something like this on an empty/isolated road : (

I always wonder why the F insurers ask you questions like when did you get your G, M1 etc etc.
Heck - I dont even remember what I had for dinner yesterday and you expect me to remember all that crap?!?!

they're obligated to, the paper pushing insurance types lead the most boring existence imaginable.

Is there some reason that you write 2114 for the year of the infraction and then 2110 for the year of your bike? You say you’re a dentist, you must know what century you’re living in.

I find it rather amusing he didn't note the persons age.
Nor that that speed was theoretically attained in 100m. That is ~5.8s 0 to 124. I don't know which CBF he had, but that would be really really hard on a 500 and still need you to give it the beans on a 650.
