, the cost of a cert is around $40. I'm not going to pay hundreds more just for the cert.
Where do you get a $40 safety from?
The cheapest I've found is $60

2009? Sport bike? Less than 5k?
Not possible...
Unless it's a 250...which will.be very vclose to that price...check out the other outrageously overpriced bikes for sale thread..
not possible? heres a 2009 FZ6R for $3750. perhaps you should reconsider your knowledge of used bike values....

if the OP is looking for something like that, I'd strongly suggest an FZ6 over the plastic encased R version
the FZ6 was a Euro inspired do everything type of bike that did not sell weel in NA, so Yamaha wrapped it
in plastic, specced poorer brakes and suspension, changed the ergos to be more sporty and people bought them
the non-R version outperforms it in every way, and is classed as sport touring by the insurance industry,
the plastic R version is classed a sport bike
resale prices are around even

checking out the outrageously over priced motorcycles for sale thread is not the way to determine a bikes value. This 2009 FZ6R was placed in the reasonably priced motorcycles for sale thread a couple days ago.
That's not a sport bike.....
why not?
yamaha calls it a sport bike in their advertising.Riding position mostly, amoung other things. Technically they're sport touring. You could loosely call it a sport bike though. "Real" sport bikes are technically Supersports sooo

Street-ready Sport Bike
A rider in the market for a practical 600cc bike doesn’t have to compromise performance or style to get value. The FZ6R is a great combination of performance, handling, and exciting sport bike style, but also with a low seat height that’s both adjustable to fit a wider variety of riders and also narrower where it counts to make it even easier to put both feet on the ground.
hypersport
supersport
sport
regardless, the FZ6 is the bike the op stated he is exclusively looking for. I threw up the FZ6R as an under 5 large sport bike.
you can say it isn't a sport bike but others including yamaha do call it a sport bike.
Yamaha can call it whatever they want it's just marketing.
But you missed the part where im agreeing with you.
yamaha calls it ...... exciting sport bike style, ......
