Looking for something cheap, only need to be able to talk to my gf on the back of my bike.
Must be wireless.
Don't need to link with phones or music..but music link would be awesome.

Any ideas?

Wireless and cheap don't seem to be in the same category unless you're considering $100+ "cheap"...and even at that price range you're getting pretty mediocre stuff.

Wired, well, there's tons of setups on eBay for dirt cheap.

I just don't want my helmet wired to hers.

100 to 150 for a pair would be fine

Ok, wasn't sure if you were talking under $50 type cheap, or reasonable cheap. ;)

There were a few members here using some of the cheaper helmet setups who will chime in I'm sure.

Daytona Motorsports has a set of communicators for I think about $150, plays FM radio and can link to phones to not to regular GPS, but will do a bike specific GPS. I bought one, and use it to listen to radio and GPS.

I have those exact ones. I don't need them anymore and was gonna put them on Kijiji. OP if you're interested PM me.

Pm sent.
Depends on price and where you are located.

How do these mount to your helmet? 2 sided tape?

Keep me in mind if Eaz8 doesn't take them.

What generation are they and reason for selling, out of curiosity?

@PrivatePilot I will. I got another PM as well but will keep you posted. They're the latest GEN (v6) I got them last year on Amazon. I got SENA's for Christmas and don't need these anymore.

They mount using a clamp on the side of the helmet. Same as SENAs.

I will be posting a in-depth review of these units by end of this week for those interested. Honestly for the money you cannot beat it. Incredible value and shocked how the quality is.

Which Sena model did you get? How would you compare it to this ebay unit?

I got the SMH-05. You can't compare them. The price difference is too great. The SENA is a lot better. The eBay models are great little units for the price you get them but the SENA's are louder (again you are paying a lot more for them). Structurally the eBay units are solid and the mic quality is great too. My only issue with em I find the buttons too small but that isn't to say they are hard to press.

Thanks for the comparison. I recently picked up a Sena 10S. Really happy with it except the speakers could be more full range, as opposed to only mids and highs. They were more than loud enough, just not a very full range sound. Probably more and less noticeable depending on what music you listen to primarily. I definitely had considered a knock-off unit, but I wanted the user friendliness of the rotating knob, so even the 10R model was of no interest to me.

I honestly don't think you can expect full range of sound with small speakers that strap to the insides of your helmet. They need to be loud to overcome all the buffeting noise in your helmet.

If you want full range, you're gonna have to go with ear buds and active or passive noise cancellation.

Ya, I didn't end up installing the speakers at all in the end. I have a pretty decent set of ear phones with triple flanges. I like them for riding because they both act as an ear plug to block out windnoise, as well as offering significantly better sound. I'm used to riding with these ear phones already, and now that they are plugged into the Sena, I tuck the loose wiring along the back of my helmet between the helmet padding and my head. Once I tuck it in, I can't even tell the wiring is there, the sound is greatly improved, and I get the ear plugging effect as well. Best of both worlds.

Looking forward to the review! Looking for something that I can hook up so that when I take my GF 2 up we can talk, so many options out there! Plus BT integrated helmets are expensive.

Got your msg Thanks.
You are a but far...if it was later in the season ide ride down but I'm in barrie.

What'd the cheapest name brand set you can get?
Something easy to push the talk button.

No worries. Yeah that is a bit out, it's cool.

IMO if your going the name brand route I'd look at Sena, they have some less expensive models I think they can start in the high 200s for pair.
