Not sure where to post this so i just posted on general thread. Im looking to powder coat my rims and maybe frame depending on the price. Will that affect the structural integrity of the frame and rims? Also if you guys know of any good places in the GTA please let me know.

Thanks gtam

i used a place in pickering to do my car wheels this spring
great price, fast turnaround, something like 5000+ available colors.

I went to GTA custom motorsports on Dixie & Matheson in Sauga a couple of months ago. While everyone was quoting me for around $800, they did mine for $400 and they did an excellent job.

What does that include? Just rims or rims and frame? And did you have tk bring in the rims off the bike or just bring bike in whole?

I work at brightside customs part time. Its my buddies shop.

Set of average motorcycle rims will run you about 220-250 depending on colour and their condition

Average motorcycle frame will run you 200 - 250 ish.

Ive been working there with him for the past five years. We know what we are doing. We just dont throw powder on parts. We are gear heads first who love cars and bikes, we both have carreers in engineering and machining, so this reflects in our knowlege of how to properly prepare parts for powder.

We also offer many flavours of ceramic coating for all your exhaust needs. There is also high temp powder for down stream exhaust applications for more durability.

Check out our work at www.brightsidecustoms.com

Located in the eglinton and DVP area.

When you bring the parts, the bearings need to be removed from the wheels along with the tires.

If youre bringing a frame, completely take it apart and degrease it as best you can.

Do not bring the whole bike lol.
Cheers

Just the rims. I brought the whole bike and I had to leave it there for 3 days, they took off the wheels themselves.

I live in an apartment and dont have a garage nor the all tools to take my bike apart for painting. Nor do i know how. I could probably learn over youtube but dont have the place to do it or a truck to haul the parts. Im looking for a place that i can bring my bike in as is for powdercoating.

Bringing your bike in as is, well no one can powder coat it then for you.....

It needs to be taken apart, stripped down, things removed and so on.....

If your looking for a shop to do this, then your after a full restoration it seems, and if they take it all apart, who is going to put it back together ? them or you ?

Tell you what, you bring me the bike and for a fee I will strip it all down, you take the parts to what ever powder coating place you want, once done bring back the parts to me and I will put it all back together for you for a fee, or as you get the parts back you put it together and save the rebuild fee

but without paying for the tear down and rebuild, no one is going to do it for free, including the powder coating shop........

ohhh and I have done 2 restores so far see my sig.......working on a 3rd and 4th...

You need to go to a custom bike shop like Chappell, and it will be expensive.

Powder coaters are popping up everywhere in industrial units. It's not rocket science, but the skill comes in what doesn't get coated.

Firstly you only asked about where to get something powder coated

Then you made this comment, and that you don'e have the place, tools or experience to tear down a bike, which was not mentioned in your first statement

I didn't say you were asking for anything free, but I was letting you know that it's going to cost more if someone else has to take apart your bike, then powdercoat and then put it all back together

Perhaps your opening statement should have been,,,,Who can I take my bike too for a full restoration........since this is what it seems you are after, and not just to get a few parts powder coated......

ohhh and to answer one more part of your initial question, NO powdercoating will not affect the structural integrity of the parts that are done
