Just installed a brand new slip on M4 exhaust, 2012 Yamaha R6, whole thing took about 30 minutes. Looks and sounds amazing.

The R6 has a MASSIVE "mid muffler", that 21LB square box you can see sitting right behind his muffler. Even with NO muffler an R6 isn't loud when you've still got that mid muffler ;)

If you really want to make that M4 sing: https://www.dan-moto.com/DM_INT/ind...ucts_id=1067&zenid=885924piervqgjvahvol2d28k0

If you don't have a power commander to correct your fuel/AFR for both the slipon plus having no more EXUP valve you can get your ECU flashed with a proper fuel map and that'll help bring back some of the power down low, that you've now lost.

If you're buying the midpipe also look at getting smog block off plates (unless you like lots of pop, backfire and flames on deceleration).

Yes I have been looking at getting the mid pipe, that stock mid muffler is huge and awful looking, only thing is I'm not to technical when it comes to that kind of modification, also yes I know I would have to get it re mapped. As of right now with just the slip on exhaust it has been running really well haven't noticed any difference other than she feels a little more responsive and get up and go when you punch it. Overall I love the sound of it, its a deep throaty sound that I was looking for.

It'll be a lot more raspy and whiney if you remove the mid muffler, plus it can mess up your idle pretty bad (make it very bouncy). You can smooth out the idle with the ECU flash (by raising it, which makes it super annoying with the loud M4/midpipe) and there are nice Pro6 dyno tuned fuel maps for the midpipe + M4 for loading into the ECU, work great, makes monster power, super smooth throttle, just gulps the fuel.

The midpipe is SUPER easy to install. You just hacksaw off your mid muffler then clamp on the midpipe, no welding or anything else required! If you want a shop to do a nice clean install for ya, awesome price to, ask Jason at 22 customs: http://www.22customs.com he does all the midpipe installs on my friends R6's, all day every day. He might even have the danmoto midpipe in stock as well as I've been sending so many people to him he started stocking them.

Even if you do the midpipe you don't HAVE to get remapped, especially if your idle turns out fine. These bikes make monster power up top when they are lean, they just run hot and the throttle will be very twitchy and when you roll on the throttle you won't get that punch until about 9000rpm.
