Sold my quick - question about process

It's been a while since I sold a vehicle. Just wondering a couple of things:

-we made the deal already but I didn't get the UVIP. Should I go get that now? Should I just take him with me to the ministry to get the whole transfer done?
-He asked me to put a lower value on the bill of sale so he'd pay less taxes. I didn't think that mattered anymore as they go by a book value - does it?

Also he will need to certify it, I recommended Rosey Toes but he lives in Oshawa, any recommendations for getting a safety done quickly?

Thanks.

1-) You should get the Uvip prior to selling the bike by law - but if the buyer doesn't care then it is up to the two of you
2-) There is no book value for motorcycles, they go by the price you put on the bill of sale - The ministry (if the price is way low) might send both of you a letter on the mail asking ot verify the price, I tosed mine out and never heard back, however it is up to you if you respond - Putting a lower price on the bill of sale is a common practice.
3-) I am not sure if Ken kneedragger88 in here does them - PM him - He is in Oshawa and has a shop. You can also call the local Canadian tire store and ask if they do them, some do, some don't.

if you do this, make sure you get the stated value paid by bank draft or certified cheque, the rest in cash. Or, all cash.

I wish they had a CDN version to put some reality to Kijiji ads.

Why is everyone always so worried about people posting stupid values on Kijiji? if a seller posts a price that is too high offer what you think or move on. Seller will adjust if they really want to sell.

Sellers post stupid pricing because buyers offer stupid prices back, no I wont take 50% and dont care if it is in cash, i dont accept credit not am i interested in trading for your 1984 park avenue and 3 chickens.

It is just becoming a viscious circle, if buyers offer reasonable prices, lowballer give stupid offers, so sellers retaliate by asking too much so if everyone wants to lowball, they will just get closer to a fair value

Buyers need to also realize that just because somebody is selling, it does not mean they are desperate

nobody wins.

Because if you try and negotiate fair value, they label you a "lowballer" on their bike which they list above MSRP. Usually, they clue in after months of no sale.

If there was a blue book value with high-low range as a guideline, it would be better for both seller and buyer.

There are lots of ads from sellers who buy bikes, ride for a year, and expect to sell for MSRP, +financing costs, + all the crap they put on the bike, again at full MSRP. Some kijidiot right now has a Ninja 300 listed for $9,000.

Clarington cycle can do certs. They are locates just west of hwy 57 on Taunton rd. they are good there
