Ya they work well. I had a parts canada rep come into the shop I worked at and showed us. I almost bought one right then.

Yes they are great, purchase from a CDN retailer as they are the same price and no shipping or exchange. Radioworld carries them as well as Royal. I have used mine to recharge my Scala during a long day trip as well as my phone.

Thanks guys, just ordered the XP-1, seems like a great tool to keep under the seat.

Got it. Was expecting some sort of unfinished bleeding-edge gizmo but it all looks very professional and high-quality. Just wish it came with a smaller case or pouch, this big case won't fit under the seat. Minor quibble though.

Nothing more than a high discharge LIPO battery inside with additional 5v output electronics. Exactly what RC planes use.

Wanna make your own for a fraction of the price?

Hobby King has tons of 4S batteries for cheap you could use.

If the above is true and its lipo pretty much never.

eeenteresting...

Debating whether to pick something up like this or just attach our two bikes with SAE pigtails so we can quickly connect the batteries for a jumpstart. Doubtful whether both our bikes will have flat batteries at the same time - seems to happen only to me for some strange (short-circuit) reason.

Used it after work to start my bike that bad been sitting outside all day at 5C. Not that I had any doubt, but it started instantly with zero choke on. Starting with the battery would've involved 7-8 tries and a couple offers for a boost from coworkers.

Beautiful.

Your battery is gone. A bike should start at -40 just like a car... unless your glow plugs like the extra juice.

My battery's brand new and I monitor it constantly. Resting voltage is a perfect 12.7.

Old, carbureted, cold-blooded bike is all. I suspect that the spec'ed YB12A-12 is borderline for this 600cc engine.
