TMP Saturday Sept 28!!! WHO'S IN?!

Wheelies where you have to feather it all the way down the straight are not power wheelies. You should be able to be full throttle on a litre bike without doing a wheelie. A power wheelie is one that happens while getting on the power and you are still achieving maximum possible acceleration. Usually a power wheelie causes the rider to slow the application of throttle to get the wheel back on the ground so full throttle can be applied.
If I go full throttle coming onto the front straight I'll loop my bike right over backwards, that's why I have to feather the throttle, to keep the front tire near the ground. Once I get to 3rd gear I can go WOT and it'll hold it just a few inches off the ground until 4th gear then it'll set it down.

You don't need a windshield in order to be in a proper tuck position. If the wheelies are because of your camera then move (or remove) your camera.
At a slow track like TMP I'm not too worried about tucking. For calabogie or mosport I'd relocate it ;)

I stand corrected. It seems like you didn't listen, or at least didn't learn, what Fawaz said to you.
I still wheelied all four straights after the black flag, just kept it a little lower. Didn't get black flagged for the rest of the day.

Power wheelies are typically okay. "Other" wheelies are not. You should know that, since you've been black flagged, and presumably have had it explained to you.

my R1 has 168 whp and I go down the front straight with a slight lift on the front end for a sec or two, then its on the ground for the whole straight.
your just riding like an ******* jamie, and one day your going to 12 o'clock your bike and cause a huge mess. to stop doing the wheelies, come out of the turn in a higher gear and pin it.
power wheelie is not the problem, its keeping it there the whole ****ing straight to show off.

They probably said F it let this dip **** take himself out. Even after your warned you still ride like a dick. I hope they throw your *** off the track and tell you not to come back. Go find an empty parking lot or use the 401 in rush hour.

Ps, make sure you don't get banned (again) and announce every track day your going to so that the people who don't want to deal with your antics can avoid that day.

Great, another red group video to remind me how crap I am. Very nice riding! Like doozerdave smoothness and precision but with more hp. It's good for me to watch how you guys do it...but kinda depressing in a way :(

Thank you for the compliment, very kind, but I have rode a session with you at TMP this year, nothing 'depressing' about how you get around the track, at all! I actually really enjoy watching your Duc navigate through the track, clean and consistent if you ask me..... and Im pretty sure doozerdave and I have identical bikes....sooooo......... Ive got more hp?

My old bike was an SV, in the vid I posted earlier. :)

Thanks YellowDuck. I have to echo triggerhappy. Watched you at GBR last time out (even though I wasn't sure it was you, haha) and you're definitely one of the smoothest, most consistent in yellow. Forget yellow and try red. You're smooth enough for it, for sure.

I know for a fact he's not welcome at the GWB track days.

Funny, Rupert has no problem keeping the front down on his championship winning gixxer. I didn't say you should be able to go WOT out of the corner, I said maximum acceleration. I said you can go WOT without doing a wheelie, yes, but two separate sentences. It's complicated, I know.

You missed the point, again. It's not for your comfort to get out of the wind!

At a Pro6 or Rider's Choice day you would have been kicked out.

And yeah, your pass in 9 was totally clean, especially for red group. I'd say it was even perfectly acceptable for intermediate because you were so far ahead by the time you turned in that it couldn't have materially affected his line options.
It's not about lap times. As long as you are predictable and hold your lines you can ride in red. You will probably find you will instantly drop a couple of seconds off your time just by following the faster riders. I know I did.

Super big 12 o'clock wheelies, sure, against the rules. Other wheelies, just frowned upon ;)
Jamie cut the crap, they are not allowed period - No winky face!!, Not allowed.

You are going to lose control and hurt someone, stop that ****.

This thread is not on topic, so shameless plug in case anyone can provide some kind of answer or opinion: what would be a reasonable asking price for a 2003 gsxr 1000, currently track bike but with a clean title, 32k km, newer things like chain, sprockets, accossato cylinder, lines, exhaust etc. (basically all the standard upgrades), and spare parts, extra rim and other stuff, recently refreshed and resprung forks. Sold my OEM bodywork along with the headlight unit a long time ago, would you think it's worth sourcing parts (likely chinese street bodywork) and converting back to street in terms of sale value?

I'm asking because I don't want to end up in the "jesus **** that bike is expensive" thread, and generally trying to decide if it's worth pursuing the idea or not. If I sell, I'll buy a newer 600 to carry me on the track.

^ I just sold an 05 600RR (clean title) with a **** load of mods for a touch over 5000.
I'd say around the $3500 mark for your bike, just a guess though.

My 2004 is posted for $4500. I don't think that's unreasonable as a negotiable price.

Yeah, I was thinking somewhere along the 3500 number too..hmm

Your customer base is much larger since your 2004 is a street bike from the get go. Good luck, hope you find a buyer soon, although IMO the 03/04 is a great street bike.

TOTAL BS. I'm easy 80 pounds lighter then you, my r1 is much faster then yours, and I can keep the front down all the way down the straight, try NOT going out into the straight in 1st gear. :angry7:
you feather the throttle when the front starts to get light, not while its in the air. put your head forward, push the bars down and put your chest onto the tank that bike will fly down the straight and stay planted
