Moto-D tire warmers

This one time at band camp..
Wrong thread, crap.
There are so many great brands of tire warmers out there. Prices are getting higher as demand gets higher. I've heard great things about the Bickle Warmers. A friend even lended me a pair once. Amazingly they warmed my tire. But seriously, Many people are happy with his product, which is great!
Moto-D recently released this year a phenomenal warmer at a price that poor racers guys like myself can afford! Last year was their year to work through the flaws. The product that Trackside Cuts offers is the new line of their warmers which are the cats pajamas.
The community is small in racing, it's competitive. People don't need to attack another persons line of business to better themselves, you just make yourself look like an arrogant prick.

This one time I was having phone sex with this imaginary Scott F voice...
Ugh wrong thread again.

True enough. Exactly which manufacturer uses soft copper wires where Moto-D uses carbon?

Sorry, I can't answer that. I can only comment on MOTO-D Products. The information could be inaccurate and I don't want to give answers that could potentially be wrong. You'll have to ask the other manufacturers to get the correct information.

I have a set of Chicken hawks I bought used off a member here for $100. No problems yet.

You still owe me $2.99/ min for that!! LMAO

6 year old set of bickels here. one burn repair at year 6 ( which sucked cause I was talking to the owner of moto d in New Jersey when my warmer started to torch lmao) one thing I noticed was John took the Warmer right away and fixed it and shipped it back in 2 weeks.
He also shipped me a temporary warmer in the meantime

can't go wrong with ordering anything from trackside cuts, sunny and drew are really nice and take great care of there customers and wouldn't sell a product they wouldn't use themselves. Either way you can't go wrong.

I hope this is not a huge can of warmers I am opening (get it?), because I know John Bickle is a frequent poster here, as is Trackside Cuts. Hopefully people can just offer what they know about the product from personal experience.

The Moto-D single temp warmers that Trackside Cuts now sells look like a great deal to a track day guy like myself on a limited budget ($299). Bickle's product is universally praised, but of course a little more expensive. Moto-D offers a 2-year warranty, which would seem to take some of the risk out, and having them now sold and supported by a local vendor is a big plusin my mind.

I know a few people here own the Moto-D warmers and have likely got a whole season of use on them now. Impressions? Would you buy them again?

Both Tony Lanni (SOAR Expert #576) and myself have been racing on 4 sets of dual temp Moto-D's from Drew & Sunny of Trackside Cuts since the beginning of this season. They have worked impeccably with no issues since purchased. I personally ran Bickle's warmers last year, and while I had absolutely no issues with them, I found that the Moto-D's are a better product for me in terms of value and performance. There is a distinct efficiency in their design that allows them to reach peak temperature in a greatly reduced period of time compared to other warmers which is very valuable in many circumstances and the cost is incredibly competitive for their quality. Other factors that I personally appreciated, are that Moto-D warmers come with a carry bag and just recently I believe they are now being distributed with a slick semi-rigid zippered 'shell-type' container. Reinforcing my satisfaction is that both Trackside Cuts and Moto-D are both undoubtedly 'service-engineered' companies and I have not personally heard about anyone having any derogatory experiences with either one. Combine all that with an unmatched warranty program that even has a limited allowance that covers damage to them resultant of our own stupidity, from a racer's perspective, it's a 'no brainer' in my opinion.

Bickle Racing has had a two year warranty for MFG defects for 3 years now.
We have been working in the AMA for three years now and have Jason DiSalvo,Elana Myers,Ben Young,Kenny Reidmann,Dustin Dominguex and RSR Racecraft, with on going talks with several other teams. In CSBK we have Alex Welsh,Bodhie Edie,Ruthless Racing,Steve Crevier, Michael Leon, and many more. Also Jodi Christie uses two types of warmers ours and Moto D.We also are used by Scott Rupert and Aubrey Bailey at SOAR. We also have 220V warmers being used in the Spanish Moto 2 Championship. The biggest seller for us is the heat soak time and consistant heating, as well as different heating designs for the front and the rear. We also have the best insulated warmer on the market. The entire warmer is made here in Canada in Courtice Ontario.
We will endevor to repair all warmers as they come in. We don't bump people to the front of the line ,we do what we can for all our customers. If that offends people I apoligize but all our customers are just as important as the next. Consider that we have learned to not give people repairs dates becasue we don't know what is wrong. Sometimes you need to look through the whole 50 feet of wire in the front or 100 feet in the rear to find the damage. When you have seen people drive through the pits with warmers on you learn quickly you have not seen everything! If we have a loaner we loan it,,if we don't we apoligize.
Our warmers are not cheap,, but nor is a good engine builder. All warmers are not the same,,, how it heats, how it retains heat and the longevity are all things that add to the cost.
But remember,,, as I'm sure Sonny and Drew will confirm,,, your Sumomoto,or Chicken Hawk,or Chinese ??? or Woodcraft,, are not our problem. Please don't ask me to repair it. I do not add service to other makes. We service our own and crap happens with every warmer. So getting it fixed or serviced is the key. How you look after it dictates the life,,so buy what works for you,,cheaper is not meaning it is better, but service is what matters.
Also used warmers are not allways a good deal. A National warmer used two years has about 8 years of life beat out of it. Now if the warmer is in good shape we can retro fit new thermostats. So look at warmers like things will go worng,,,who's there for you? And rest assured after 34 years in this sport,,,,it will go wrong sooner or later!

Great post John.
It's true that it's an electrical device, and sometimes things go wrong.
The service you receive will be more valuable to you than the item itself, and the service will be what differentiates the value of one product over another. With the internet being what it is, consumers can buy a million things direct from wholesalers all over the world...however, will that wholesaler be there for you when things go sideways?
Your local distributor who comes to your race weekends will.

And it will,, go sideways! That's the only thing I can guarantee!:)

So far most of the reviews are either from people sponsored by these companies or are selling them. Just an observation...

My Moto D warmers weren't bought from Trackside cuts, and aren't even the models they currently sell. SO while they are my sponsor, I can't even speak with any experience on their new line of warmers. Now I can speak of Trackside Cut's great service , as I have had from them for both of my leather suits, a few glove repairs, cool graphics and designs, safety devices and replacements parts for them, etc...
As for Moto D warmers, I can only tell you about the previous generation ones. And a set of brand new Bickles.....whom I am not sponsored by....and a set of old Chicken Hawks, who again, I am not sponsored by.

Pretty big stretch to say most, no?

So far any opinion I get from racers on what to buy ie gloves etc has been one person saying "yes these are awesome" to the next person saying " never buy these" about the exact same thing.
now I don't know if it's from personal experience of use or predjudice against the person/people selling them. For me I'd rather look at online reviews for a broader unbiased opinion. * puts on flame suit

so spend the money and become a product expert yourself.

Moto-D warmer ordered at Trackside. Hopefully I'll get it before next Thursday (I never thought I'd say this, but...damn holidays ;))

Did you get single temp?

THinking of ordering a set.

Yes, I got the single temp. Figured I don't need to add yet another option to my arsenal and ending up with too much choice and indecisiveness ;)
