They were nice and gave you a warning and posted a sign before they ticketed/towed your bike
 
You don't evict squatters. You kick them out. There are enough free on-street parking spots around that you don't need to park in places that annoy people. Isn't that whole area under construction, at any rate?

There is a BIXI bike station right next to it, probably too much complaints from bicycle folks or perhaps they want to expand that space in the future.
 
I never parked there during the day, only some weekend night meets as a stop over spot but not since all the construction that had been going on in that area.
 
There's lots of free bike parking just down the street at Rees and Queens Quay..bonus being it's right next to the harbour police so always cops around.

Come to Asia where you can park your bike wherever you want. Encourages people to ride because parking a car is a pain. As long as what they ride isn't a 2-stroke it's better for the environment.

I was actually parked there overnight when they put the fence up, they were nice enough to leave the section where my bike was unlinked so I could get it out easy.
