2009 vstar 950 value?

My buddy at work has a 2009 vstar950, under 3000km, very clean. Comes with windshield, bags, backrest, all yamaha accessories. He needs to sell it and he's thinking $7000, I think it's a little high. What do you think? Is anyone interested? I'd like to help him sell it, as he's in a tough spot and needs the cash right now. Thanks in advance.

He'll most likely get around $5,500 for it. Try posting at $6,500 and see what happens. Check kijiji for asking prices, exclude the extremes, take an average and deduct about 10-20%. That will give you an idea of a realistic selling price.

Remember that the further away from GTA you are the cheaper your bike becomes. I bought several items, including motorcycles, from Barrie at a much lower price than I would get them in Toronto.

I just did a search and most seem to be $6200-$6700 with one I found for $8500 which is really an outlier. I agree with DemonPig. Try $6500. With the milleage I think that is a fair price.

Thanks for the help guys, $6500 asking price is what I expected, sell around $6000 or so. He seems sure he'll get $7000, so he posted on kijiji for $7500. Oh well, I guess he'll be keeping it a while.
H4xRoz, my dad is selling his 2008 vstar1100, Canadian classic, Fi, black/white, windshield, bags,backrest, floorboards, very clean, 18k, all maintenance up to date, done at Sturgis cycle. Asking $6500, but there's room to negotiate. Pm me if either bike suits your needs.
