Congrats.Great bike to tinker with.

Sweet bike! Congrats!!!

Congrats! Gorgeous bike, I wanted one but at the time insurance was almost 1/2 the cost of the bike itself.
Enjoy :)

...and the other half is the valve adjustment and belt replacement bills. These bikes are awesome to ride, sound great, look amazing, but a PITA to live with.
I've always liked Monsters, but the one-size only seat position doesn't work for me.

I saw one of these a few weeks ago on the 403, I could listen to an MP3 of this for hours...

Cool S2R. Congrats.

New to the site. First post.
Fellow Monster owner. Nice bike!
That "guy" is in Hampton now. His name is Giovanni.

I learned how to do the belts and valves by watching these vids.(And a background of doing most of my own maintainence over many years)
If you can check the valves on a cb1000,you will have no problem with this.Just remember that "loose" is better than tight.

Great ride there. Love the older monsters. Felllow monster owner here too 796.
I believe the s2r is a two valve? In that case its much easier to do a valve adjustment than the four valvers. You need the proper tools though.
The above video explains it pretty good. Haven't done mine yet and not looking forward to it.
That bike is gonna put alot of smiles on your face each and every time you hop on it. Trust me lol

Nice

One think i noticed,, lots torque and when you are in a traffic jam gotta ride the clutch quite a bit... I cant just let clutch out and ride at 5 km an hour when the traffic is crawling...

Is that the deal with all minsters

Lol lol yes that is the deal, welcome to the club. The way I look at it is the bike is telling you "wtf you riding me so slow?" Pure character.
There alot of good monster forums online. Check them out
