why did kahuna lose its yamaha dealership when they gained honda. need my shaft seal.

what's up yamaha's canadas ***.

I ordered a output shaft seal for a fz6 on thursday may 30th and payed over the phone with credit card.

A week later when I go to the store to check up on them they tell me they don't have it. One of the sales people try and get me to buy something else with the payment I made for the seal they could not get. After I can't find anything I need someone else tries to help me and offers to order it from another dealership for me. I explain that this is an emergency as its my means of transportation and that I'm leaking oil everywhere I go. It is bad for the environment as I have lost about a litre and a half in the time I have been waiting for the seal. they offered some free oil when the seal comes in as a response. I also offer to pick up the seal at the other dealership for them to speed things up but they couldn't do that. called a few more times and they never have it. hopefully it comes in monday.

When I went there last month to check out prices for an FZ6R (I mean, why not since they were still advertising them for sale on their website...), I was told that Yamaha's pricing left no room for profit (or something along those lines), so out they went and in came Honda.
 
I got my parts ordered after loosing Yamaha, they told me Yamaha was going to honor current orders. I got some parts 3 days after ordering, the rest were back ordered and took another week or so. Anyways I got everything
 
The info I received from a very credible source at Kahuna was that they tried to remain a Yamaha Dealer, if Yamaha would not force them to inventory and sell snowmobiles.

Year after year Kahuna would lose money on sleds because of where they are located. Yamaha would not bend and since Honda does not have Sleds in their line up it made better business sense.

The bike industry is so broken. Between the vendors' often insane requirements and dealer's abysmal understanding of basic retailing, it's just painful to watch. Pair that with the fact that the motorcycle clientele is (surprisingly) one of the most web-savvy consumer segments in North America and it's pretty clear why the turnover of dealerships continues.
 
FINALLY, a local Honda dealer! I don't need to go to Brampton Powersports to get OEM parts and deal with their (Parts) staff who notoriously dont answer the phone for orders! Not to mention the over priced oil (ie. Motul 5100 - $55 + tax).
