State Farm, Allstate and others. What are my options?

To give a bit of background...I'm male, 37, residing in Markham with G license since 17. My bike's (08 Honda CBR600RR) insurance policy is coming up for renewal this July and I'm currently paying ~$1500 for comprehensive insurance (bike only) with State Farm. I'm looking to obtain my M license before the policy renews and would like to shop around. So I've heard Allstate offers competitive rates and will insure SS bikes provided that you have an M license.

I called their office and spoke to a Rep, she told me that they make exceptions and will insure SS bikes if I had my M license for +10 years. Allstate wasn't an option anymore. I was once insured by Jevco (now Intact) on a previous bike and know that SS bikes are on their black list. It's a dead end here.

I've considered packaging my auto, bike, and home insurance with State Farm but it costs less overall to insure them separately elsewhere.

So I'm asking what other insurance companies would offer competitive rates other than State Farm or am I paying a reasonable rate already? Anyone else in the same situation perhaps can share their experience and knowledge.

Thanks.

Oops, sorry pressed send by accident. I too was with Jevco and was canceled after the acquisition by Intact, I called around everywhere and ended up with Aviva through Mantha Insurance. I have my M2 as well, would have been even cheaper had I had a full M.

I should mention that I have a clean driving record; no traffic offenses or suspensions. The current policy with State Farm includes collision and the agent told me my rate will increase upon renewal.

I was looking to upgrade to a litre bike (CBR1000RR or CB1000RA) and State Farm wanted an extra $800/year which brings my rate to ~$2300/year. An online quote with Riders Plus came to ~$2000 for the CB1000RA; they don't insure the CBR1000RR.

Thanks! I'll give Mantha a call and see what they can do.
