Bike stolen today :( Insurance claim question

Thornhill isn't safe at all. Move to Yonge/Finch or Yonge/Sheppard, we have plenty of bikes in our condo and none have reported stolen yet.

what does being pulled over for stunting have anything to do with a security asking to see inside a van that is leaving the premises of a condo?
 
its about handing over ur rights
and giving more power to the man
like search my van (if i had one)
take my car or bike from the side of the road
with out a fair trial

I hear where you're coming from dude, but you still aren't understanding the difference between private property and getting harassed by the cops in a public place.
For example, if you want to go into a nightclub in toronto, they will ask to search you, if you say no, they say "see ya later, no entry"
And if you get pulled over, and don't have anything illegal in the car, tell them to get stuffed, you aren't consenting to a search.
Then they will probably make up some story like "we smelled weed" so they can search you, and after they don't find anything, you can file yourself a nice complaint at the station.
As far as hta 172 goes, they will find a reason to impound your stuff if they feel like it, thats the Ontario way!
 
This is now pointless.
It's like arguing the sun raises in the East and sets in the West.
It is what it is therefore if you live in a condo and you have a nice motorcycle then your bike is more likely at some point to get stolen than not.
Stop arguing and go deal with your Condo Board.
Perhaps a group living in the same building can pay a lawyer to draft a contract that states if any bikes are stolen then the Board will be responsible for the replacement due to negligence.

Keep repeating formula.

Anywho, insurance requires me to some papers notarized, any ideas where is the best place to go? This insurance/stolen bike thing is a lot of work :(

Quite often, the lawyer's secretary will be a notary public.
The one I use charges $10 to notarize stuff I've needed in the past.
Lawyer might ding you $20.

I just went to Canadian Tire yesterday and they have a notice clearly posted in their window "We reserve the right to inspect all bags, purses and parcels" is that illegal and a violation of Charter rights? No, not at all. Same thing applies to what matt220 is saying.

They can post whatever they want, trying to enforce that is another thing.
If they try to search you on the way in it can be done, if you don't agree you can refuse and they might as you to leave. On the way out however, and this is where most people would be searched, you don't have to let them.

You can simply walk away and tell them that unless you are being arrested you are leaving. Not a thing they can do. However they're counting on ignorance, and 99% of people don't know this.
