hey guys!
so if you are into modifying your naked bike, tell me what you think of this: http://supacustom.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/magpul_Buell_1125R_1.jpg

most of you probably know this bike already... Ronin....

I'M IN LOVE with these headlights and the head of this bike... any of you have an idea where to buy parts so i can do this on my bike? it should be a simple thing to do... headlights don't necessarily need to be welded and all but to achieve that general look....

most important is to find a place where is can get a custom grill for the front.... any links or contacts will help!

please share your thoughts!

thanks :)

nothing illegal about my idea...
let me tell you a little bit about my idea first...

so i have found the headlights already... some designer from Italy makes them.. anyways, so after installing the headlights in the center, the grill will sit in FRONT of the headlights covering the headlight BUT it will be visible... i don't think anyone can tell me that that's illegal... there are many jeep headlights with grills.

Illegal or not, wont this reduce visibility of your headlight for cars approaching from side or at an angle? Suppose it would depend on how deep the "grill" is. That being said, hate the look although i am a big fan of naked bikes. good luck with the mod.

Are the headlights not beside the grill on that bike?

I was thinking the same thing. Then I was wondering why anyone would want the front end of their bike to be just a radiator-lookin' thing.

because your both correct. Well from what I can see by other photo the OP attached. The HL are the two little things mounted to the side of the radiator. However in some other photo's they have LED strips behind the radiator which I guess could be mistaken for a headlamp. You do have to note though in the photo's with the LED's zero light is cast forward on the ground in front of the bike basically making it useless.

To the OP if you do plan on mounting the rad that high be prepared to have warm/hot air constantly blasting at you.

ummmm i really don't mean to be rude... i respect you all and thanks for replying but i asked a question... you're telling me something that has NOTHING to do with my question lol.

guys guys, first off thanks for replying,

i KNOW that that's a radiator but here is the deal... let me tell you a bit more about what i really wanna do..

what i wanna do is simply remove my stock headlights... put in smaller ones that can be hidden behind the grill... the grill will be only a grill for looks that's all! the reason i want it custom made is because i want less bars for more light to be allowed through... i also wanna have the right dimensions for my bike.

that's it ... very simple... i just need to find the right person who can make me a custom grill just like that one.

and btw, i don't really care if anyone thinks it looks bad, i love it! that's all that matters... i don't care about what you or anyone else thinks! i like it and that's that

thanks :)

I'm going to throw you a bone here you asked for a custom grill like that bike has. That bike does not have a grill on it. The part I am assuming you are asking for is the custom radiator that has been custom built hence you cannot buy it. If you want a link to something similar here you go.

Why not just get a radiator cover designed for another bike and use that? A rad cover is literally a grill made to fit over a radiator. Seems like that would work for what you're asking and be way cheaper than getting someone to manufacture a one-off for you. Machining setup fees can be in the hundreds of dollars for a one-off.

that's exactly what i thought! but then after thinking about it, all radiator cover grills are too long... meaning it will be TOO close to the front fender... you're right it is gonna be too expensive! best is i guess to get a radiator cover grill and cut it??? gonna be tough but doable!

Look for one for a bike with a small radiator. Like a 250R or even the 650R has a pretty small rad. Or maybe they make guards for oil coolers? Those are usually small compared to rads.

goo idea thanks a lot buddy!

Unless the parts you are putting on are DOT approved, they are illegal for use in Canada. With a design like that, likely to really stand out, you're probably asking for trouble.

I do like those lights though!
