Did you check it while the bike was completely upright? Is it below the minimum line on the sight glass?
You can buy 10w40 Motul 5100 Semi-Synthetic or something comparable at Cycleworld Superstore, which is about 15 minutes from you. While you are there, you can pick up an oil filter too.
Canadian tire also carries comparable stuff.

lol, I think its just minerals from rain water that built up in there.

I checked it while the bike was on a rear stand. The oil slightly above the max line, the bike was completely cold.

Thanks for the guide. I hope I can get this done sometime this week. Can you suggest a place to buy replacement levers from? Either something with cheap shipping or a brick and mortar close by.
 
Aha. I'd check some Kawi forums to see if any of the zx6r levers would on your 650; they could work.
 
Try Kahuna for local shop (25 minutes from you), call for price. You could get motor oil and filter there also.

Everyone drops a bike. Don't worry about it. I dropped mine trying to do a 180° turn when I first started riding. I've never attempted it again. Now I just slip the clutch and slowly make 180° turns with my feet off the pegs. Live and learn.

If the clutch lever is working fine, just leave it as is.

+1. Most cast aluminium or steel can be bent once, in one direction only. If you try and bend it back it will either break or lose much of it's structural integrity, which could lead to it breaking later, at a very inconvenient time.

It works, but it is uncomfortable to hold in the clutch for an extended period of time. I have been trained under the school of thought to always have the bike in gear at red lights in case you need to move out of the way. so I hold in the clutch, and with the way that it is bent, it puts more stress on my hand to hold it in.

Here is a picture of the screws that I can't get off:

Also, the two gizmos in the top right corner, I've screwed around with them and I feel like I completed messed things up with the clutch. It felt really stiff, can someone educate me on what those two components do?

It's only the actual lever that is bent correct?
You should not have to remove the screws to remove the lever. You only have to remove the pivot bolt ( use a 10mm thin walled socket)

Thanks for those resources. I don't think I have a thinned walled socket... =(

I checked the manual, but I was looking at it for the oil change information. The videos I watched on youtube for the clutch lever fix didn't mention a thin walled socket, only a 10mm.
 
If there is not enough clearance for a regular 10mm socket you can either buy a thin walled 10mm socket, or if you have a 10mm wrench, try to turn with that (now that you have the assembly of the handlebar you should have clearance to turn it a quarter turn at a time.).

Going to ask pops if he has one. If not, i will have to buy one.
 
Pops found a thin walled 10mm socket. I managed to pull it off. Only lost the bouncy spring for about 3 seconds. Luckily I saw where it landed.... *YIKES*

Just need to order the lever now and I'll be able to get the job done. I will call Kahuna tomorrow, I hope I will be riding again soon!
