Too late to sell my bike?

I used the old pics I had from my trips, I'll take the advice washing it tomorrow. Mind if I ask what bike you sold? Price?

The bike was my 954, 39k and sold for $4,800 (bike was immaculate) and priced just under everyone else's asking price of $5000 at the time.
You have to take pics that really highlight the bike, nice scenery, good weather, clean.....yano, things that make someone look at the bike and dream of having it in their possession.

You don't need to be a photographer or have a fancy camera....if you need help, take a look through some adverts in magazines and see how their placing their bikes. Pictures go a long way when selling something....its the first step in "attracting" a buyer. I know when I'm shopping I only entertain sellers that post pics and have detailed ads.

I couldn't agree more with you, Redrock. I've noticed night and day differences in response ratio when I post an ad with flattering photographs and a comprehensive (but concise) description.

Thanks mate, that's good advice. Younger I usually sold Psp, ipods, etc it was basic items. I guess as the item is worth couple grand, I need better pictures to attract buyers.

No offense, but placing a old bike in a parking lot with oil stains around is poor advertising at best.
Take the sucker out and do some proper shots and you'll see a difference for sure. Your pictures do not inspire me to want this bike.

This is so true. Condo parking lots do more harm than good. The pictures always turn out poor thanks to the crappy lighting and (usually) and point and shoot camera.

lol...yeah...that's what he said.

I think there are two groups that you're marketing to:
1- the 'collectors' that like older bikes like this
2- the 'riders' who don't really care what they have - they dont' have much cash and just want to ride

Unfortunately, the main market for smaller displacement bikes are the new riders who just want the newer, prettier bikes and believe the old ones are troublesome (and oogly).

I dont' see yours as being a fast sale, but i'm sure it'll sell in time. Pretty her up, take proper pics and write a great ad. Good luck dude...
