Maintenance: How do you do yours?

Nice, how is it? I was goingto do 15/42 but the place I bought from didn't get the 42, so i went 16/45 (+6 in the rear)
I'm thinking about getting a 17 (or 18) front, just so ican switch it out every so often (mostly long trips. I lost about 1-150km/tank at highway speeds. doing 120 at about 8krpm, for a few hours straight it vibrates a decent bit. Reason I'm thinking a bigger front is because it'd bring it back to near stock, and its easier to change the front sprocket than the back (dont gotta remove the rear wheel-just move it forwards or backwards.)
Plus I've had that side's casing off so many times (diagnosing clutch problems) that I can remove it and put it back on blindfolded, in a minute!

As for the OP, I can't help with putting on new tires (i got mechanic to do that for me) but the air filter, you just gotta remove the tank to replace. sprockets and chain are pretty easy to do also. I might be able to help when you're replacing, if I'm not busy.

i have the 15t front fir about a week now and in think i am getting less mileage too. but that would make sense ...

i am surprised u lossed 100-150! i wonder how much i lossed having been keeping track

Well, I used to get 450-500 out of a full tank (which is damn insane! Every single time I went to a certain friends house I would fill up before leaving. straight highway, 150km there (almost exact. would read 150.6 on the odo from the gas station to there), 150km back. would put 12-13L in to fill the tank back up. with a full 20L tank (including reserve) that would give approx 450-500. THis was strict highway though, taking city streets I'd get less (about 350-400)) and it's been around 300-350 highway now. City driving would yield about the same.

My 15t sprocket is on it's way to me now..... very excited
Nice. report back on the mileage.. I'm thinking a +6 in the rear is a bit too overkill for me (it would be about the same as a 14 in the front: with the 45 rear giving just a slightly higher gear ratio)
I went from stock 2.4375 to a 2.8125
a 15t front gives a ratio of 2.6, which is about the midpoint between mine and stock.

another thing to mention is the higher rpm while driving causes it to burn slightly more oil, but not a whole lot more. (at least, for me it did)

Might have good news for you, I made a stupid mistake and accidentally ordered 2 sprockets. The second one is yours if you want it, you could switch back to the stock rear.

The higher RPMs shouldn't be an issue, I already beat the crap out of my engine so I know what to expect

A front sprocket is cheaper than a rear (i believe the rear is twice the price) which is another reason I'm thinking of getting a bigger front than a smaller rear (easier to switch out if wanted/needed, and cost less)
You could keep it for when you go to replace the sprockets again! (although that may take a few years lol)

Does anyone know of a good shop/mechanic in Brampton you'd recommend?
