Federal Government bike auctions

8 grand for a dusty *** 05 R1??

...That doesn't even start because it's been sitting without fuel stabilizer for like 5 years lol. I'm looking at an ad on kijiji right now for one that's 2 years newer, has a bunch of upgrades and just got an oil change, for $1,500 less.

Seriously, who buys this stuff if they start the bidding so high? Does the unsold inventory get offloaded at half price to insiders or something afterwards?

The bikes that are located in Ottawa are Transport Canada test vehicles and only have a few hundred kms on them.

Transport Canada what-now? The government actually "tests" vehicles?

They do have some go for silly money. 2011 GSXR600 for $4200 Even a 1992 Nissan skyline for $1000 last year. Just make sure it doesn't have an export only deportation notice on it. They even sell decommisioned Ships.

I cant believe they are test ROYAL Enfield Bullet in Canada. I use to ride that Motorcycle back in India when I was 15. That bike is so small as compared to some of the cruisers we have here in North America. Royal is gonna have work hard and make a better product if they want to compete in North American markets

what you rode was probably the 350cc model, here we only get the 500cc, its still putting out less hp than a Ninja 250 but I imagine it'd be a nice tourqey around town bike

The 2010 Enfields are fuel injected with regular shift and brake peddals setup now. Still to much but better than they used to be.

that FZ6R is a steal at 6 grand. One of the best colour combos too. Someone looking to upgrade from a 250 should be jumping on that.

That was not a 2011.

More likely was a 2001-ish, and brought over from the UK based on the lisc plate on it. They did inform me though, if it has an export only condition on it, you can send it to USA and bring it right back. Was told there would be no issues with this, pending you did the proper paperwork.
