Room for negotiation on price of a Ducati?

BS , bought a bike from GP , it was current production and new , got freight and PDI off, I suggest you buy a bike on the last week of the month, dealerships usually have to report their sales at month end and they always give better deals at the end of the month to push units, having said that. would buy from the states , don't believe all the crap about clearence letters there are ways to get it for the MTO which does not involve paying $500 to a local dealer to get it.

I didn't get a good first impression this week when I went looking for a bike there

I was looked down upon while in there and the only guy who gave me the time of day was Chris the service advisor

Oooppppss,Sorry to hear that. Had my bike in there for its first 1000km service. Spoke to everybody there while I waited, found them all friendly and with the odd question about the bike answered without any attitude.

If you by a Ducati in Canada from a dealer you are getting Ripped. Buy used of some one else or do what I did buy from the US, if you want to save 7 or 8 k which in my mind is worth the work gettng it over here. It' wasn't hard to import and the dealers try to scare you into thinking it's difficulty, If you can read, write and pick up a phone you can do it. Once you see the prices in the US comparied to Canada you will look at the dealers in Canada differently. Some of the shops are starting to get there act together and are starting to match the prices in the US for parts but still way off on bikes. check around it's a big investment don't pay more because your a Canadian. Also GP bikes is one of the most expensive dealers around, get a quote from some of the dealer in London or out side the city they beat the dealer in the city 99% of the time.

Surprised by that.... very surprised by that indeed.. I've had nothing but excellent service/attitude whenever I walk/ride in to Apex...

imported my CBR, its not that bad, sounds like a lot of work, as long as you have the paperwork in order, its fine. For the savings it can be worth it for sure, here is a detailed account of my exp:

#1 Do your research. Call everyone that sells that bike. You will find a sales guy that is going home hungry. Did the same thing buying my car this year contacted every dealer within Ontario. Found the best price took it back to home dealer and said get to this price. Takes a bit of work but don't be afraid to walk away. As soon as you stand up you would be amazed at what they will do to get the sale.

Have fun with your new toy!!!!

ethanol-free gas, I think Shell is the sole supplier.
Ultramar also has 91 with no ethanol (way cheaper than Shell too!).

Just put a deposit down on a 848. They had to get it from another city, no deals on the bike, but accessories yes.
