How picky is CT on signal inspection on u.s. bike?

I am considering this bike right now from the states to buy, but it has integrated signals and flushmount front signals, would CT make me change those out?

I doubt they would be smart enough there to know the distances between lights and stuff.
My guess is they would look to see if they would work and thats it.

They care more about DLR's. Make sure the signals blink when you turn them on and you'll be fine. CT really doesnt do much. Double check the VIN, check the DLR and sometimes the signals, but really the signals are part of safety so they don't need to.

There won't be a corporate policy on your aftermarket signals, so it's not a CT thing. It's up to the individual mechanic, you could take it to 10 CT mechanics and get a variety of results. Some don't safety bikes some do. Some will pass aftermarket lights, some will not.

Canadain Tire is contracted with RIV Canada to do compliance inspections for bikes being inported...Its not a regular safety cert

CT passed my ninja 250 with integrated tail which didn't flash very well or bright for that matter (didn't have the proper electronic flasher installed) so as long as it works you should be good to go.

I had really crappy LED real blinkers when I bought my bike, and CT didn't have any problems with them as long as they worked. On the other hand, they wouldn't pass the bike without license plate light. Crappy $15 single white LED light "fixed" the problem.

Ok good to know, lots of info so thanks! I am not so worried then. Safety wont be an issue, as my safety guy is pretty good with that, lol.

Its amazing at the variety of different responses you get from differing Cdn tires. Consistency is not applied sometimes. I brought back 5 corvettes and its amazing how it fails at one place and 30 min later passes at another I went to. In a couple cases the cars had almost no miles on the car they walked out to the parking lot and just looked at the VIN and mileage and passed it and walked back inside. As long as you have working lights I don't think they will care either way. Good luck with the purchase!

It must vary per location. I have had race bikes with rain tires and not turn signals signed off at my local CT
