The straps don't count as tools?

You could buy 8 straps or a set of tire spoons and rim protectors. I dunno.

Neat technique. I've wanted to do my own tire swap, but have been nervous of messing up a tire or rim.
I'm not too crazy about his accompanying tire removal process though.

Changing tires isn't easy. Even on a rim you dont give a crap about.

Looks like a bunch of fussy stuff going on there.I could prolly have the old one off and a new one on in the time it takes to get those things in place. And that's with 59 yr old arthritic hands.Frekeyguy is right, technique!

I want to know how he's planning on getting the wheel back on the swingarm without tools now lol

Am I the only one wondering why he's putting an "adventure" tire onto a ZX9R rim?

Yea, lots of lube!

dont need too much lube....dishsoap and water goes a long way.

EVEN no lube works just fine.

yup! All about technique...

Folks, please read my first post, this isn't my doing, I just referenced a person who did it. Thought it was interesting nonetheless.

Its neat! YOu COULD do it, if your in a bind, and in the middle of no where and you have some straps and basic tools to take the axle nut off.

I used to race hare scrambles and enduros.
If you couldn't change the tire with what you had in your fanny pack in 20 minutes you might as well not show up.

Probably because the beads on sport bike tires don't stretch as well? Stretching a bead like this just seems like a hard way to do the job.

The time it takes to put on and off 8 straps makes it worthwhile to pay someone else to do it. If I am away from civilation, I am much more likely to have tire spoons than I am to have 8 straps. Overall I think it is just another solution in search of a problem.

Rodney, thanks for pointing this out, it is always interesting to see how other people try to do things.
