didnt a few pepople paid like 150 awhile back? now its cheaper lol
The Original price is $150 lol.
A lot of sales are usually scams... Sales usually means that a newer version is coming out or the price is going to get discounted anyways, but its just to make people feel like its a good deal.
but futureshop would probably honour their waranty on it if there is an option to get that..?
hmmmm i wasnt really looking for a camera and hate the look of the gopro AND the price...
does anyone has this? any reviews?
I had one, until recently, when I replaced it with a Replay 1080XD. I quite liked the shape and handling of it. You'll likely end up wanting some additional mounting options, over what comes in the box though.
The quality of image is good. Very usable in daylight. The metering is rather poor in the dark but no more so, I gather, than the GoPro cameras are.
The $114 price was only if you bought it online today for "Cyber Monday" the price if you buy it in store is still over $150. But yeah like someone else said it's a soon to be discontinued model, and will be cheaper soon anyway.
The GoPro Hero 2 is a much cooler camera, and so much tinier, i was at futureshop looking at them today and wanted to take one home soo badly but i think someone bought me one as an xmas gift already so i'll have to wait..![]()
Rob,
Have you written a review of the replay 1080xd ? I can't remember If you had a review or I read your comments on a thread. Also, where did you get the camera from ?
GoPro have done so well in the past few years. I read this article about them in Wired Magazine once. Impressive growth based on a simple idea/product.
I took a look at that Replay XD. cant believe the $$ they want for the extra mounts.. yikes!!
I may hold out for Hero 2 for when I go snowboarding out West this winter.. and for riding next summer. I used gopro with a chest mount and made a great dirt bike video this year.
The thing about those mounts is you probably don't need them, if you're just using the camera on the street. As a matter of fact the billet mounts are inconvenient, for regular street use. I would recommend them for track days and racing though.
The billets are used for mainly cars or some pretty crazy angles. I can't imagine I would want something like that on my bike for non-track use. The stock comes with 3 mounts, one flat two bend. You can buy additional pack of 5 for like 20 bucks. Once you see the foot print of the replayXD and the quality of the build (no cheap plastic anywhere), it's pretty sweet. Files are very good quality, can't complain there ...![]()

got a link to the pack of 5 for 20 bucks? I didnt see such cheap mounts on the site.
There are actually TWO flat mounts in the box if you think to remove the display mount, then use the extra double sided tape that they include on it![]()
You sir are of course right. Funny though, all the surfaces I have been thinking of would make no use of flat mounts. Let me know if you'd like to trade me ... ;-)
BTW, any idea where you can get locally the 3M VHT stickies?
I thought that my top box would need a curved plate but, because the curve is so gentle, it actually need a flat plate.
Sorry, no idea on the 3M tape. I'll be looking to source a little too, unless I have another order to place for more expensive stuff.
