Im looking at a Konker KSM 200, but my current insurance company (TD) wont insure it. They said its a "minibike" and that they dont insure them for street or for offroad. Are there other companies that would insure this bike?, and who would be competitive for a small dual sport?

Maybe get a ruling from MTO that it is street legal and then TD will review their stance.

Jevco & Statefarm insured the one I had.

Lyndsay- They know its street legal; they wont insure a suzuki dr200 because they consider it a minibike as well

klr_guy- Thanks for the info. I called state farm; there premium for the ksm200 is the same as td's premium for the current bike (kawi z750). This seems strage to me, so i will call jevco.
BTW, anything i should know about the bike before i purchase one? ie. why did you sell it?

Statefarm was the previous owner's insurer, I went with Jevco - there were no issues with the MTO - I paid $400ish for the year.

It was a good bike, I enjoyed it, nothing mechanically went wrong and it was dead simple to work on - just underpowered for what I wanted to do with it. I like to plonk around the north pickering area, the (future?) airport lands, poking around / exploring - and while it was wicked once I got there, all roads leading to it are 80/km zones and everyone wants to do 100+ - I felt like a moving roadblock and wasn't comfortable.
