So i found this sweet ninja 250 up for 3499 + tax and it is from a dealer but it was a trade in. I havent gone to check i out but from what i see and read its a sweet deal. My one question for u guys is if i buy from the dealer and it says 3499 + tax is that the same tax i would have to pay when i register the bike? So i guess i mean does the dealer register the bike for me or do i have to then go and register the bike and pay tax again? Thanks ive never been to a dealer.

The dealer collects 13% HST, which is the same amount you would pay at the MTO! You are not paying the HST twice.
The dealer would be responsible for transferring the vehicle over to your name and plate it for you. (assuming you provide them with your insurance policy)

Not from a legitimate dealer. I've bought 3 bikes from 3 different dealers and all you pay is the taxes plus licensing/plate transfer. Now if you were buying new from a dealer you would pay all of the above + PDI and freight.

when purchasing from the dealer, they will do all the registration for you for a certain fee, you will see a fee for licensing (plates, ownership, etc.), safety, administration. it is usually bundled in the used bill of sale. what year is this 250 by the way? and the kilometers?

buy my 250 instead, i'm selling it =P

2011 ninja 250, approx. 2900km.

:)

It doesn't sound like an incredible deal to me. It's almost 3 years old

Is the dealer offering some type of warranty along with the bike eg 90 days?
Mine did. Ended up doing some major work on it for free.

My buddy just sold a 2008 for $2,500. What you see on Kijiji is asking prices.

$3,900 tax in is an alright deal still but not a steal.

Remember that there's no book value on bikes so with a private sale you can save big on taxes.

You mean deprive the Government of their due taxes don't you?
