Where do you keep your riding jackets?

Assuming you wear riding jackets, where do you leave them when you've arrived at your destination?

I can understand if you keep them on during cooler weather but what about warmer riding?

I only ride for pleasure, so I never really leave my bike unattended.
With that being said, any time I stop for a break, I usually place my jacket/helmet/gloves on the bike.
If I'm grabbing a meal (rarely, while riding), I'll just take my gear in with me.

I take it in with me where ever I'm going along with my helmet...what do you do with it?

I'll leave it on my bike if I have friends standing by.

If it's work, I put it in my locker. If I'm out for a day ride and I stop somewhere, I just wear it or take it in with me. I mean, who doesn't want to look all bad-*** walking in somewhere?

What, are you riding your bike to the pool or something?

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of riding to a destination where you didn't want to carry around a jacket. Like a day at the beach, or going for a hike.

I bought my first bike this September so I missed out on the hot and humid weather this season. As a newb, I’ve been told time and time again that leather jackets are best (for protection) which is why I bought one. I just can’t see myself keeping it on for those hot sticky days.

I’m probably asking for way too much but if there is a solution out there, I’d be really grateful.

Leather is the best, but your going to be sweating like crazy when it's really hot out. You may want to look at a mesh jacket or a light weight textile jacket for when it's that hot out and then it's not that big a deal to carry with you.

Or you can get one of those Givi lock cases and shove the jacket in there but I don't know how much I would trust the locks on one of those cases in Toronto.

really WOW....Where do you keep your undies when they come off in a rush?

Yeah, I think this is the new generation where they are so used to following mummy and daddy's guidelines...

Stuff mine in my panniers, or just remove the sleeves and keep the vest for maximum breathability.

I would just sling it over the bike if you don't have panniers, which I am assuming so or you would not be asking the question. Not a lot of thugs that I know of hang out at provincial parks to steal gear.

Normally keep it with me. If I'm going to the beach or something, cable lock through the sleeves and locked to the bike.

At work my helmet sits at my desk and my jacket on the coat rack. At home all my motorcycle stuff is scattered all over my living room floor. While out for a ride I usually only stop for pee breaks so I keep all my stuff on [sometimes I lock my helmet to my bike but only if I am not leaving it for too long].

And for stupid hot days I have a white, well vented mesh jacket that keeps me cool.

I ride around with my mom on the back and she holds it for me.

This isn't the first time this question has been asked on this forum.

I don't see what the big deal is to carry/wear your gear to where you're going and then set it down. This does restrict you from some activities but in those rare occasions you may be stuck with cable-locking your gear to something. I'm still not sure that your bike is the best thing to strap it to.

The people that leave their expensive jackets and helmets sitting on their bike amaze me. I just can't believe people leave expensive stuff lying around without a care. Often they do that when there are a lot of bikes around yet when you think about it, who is more likely to steal a motorcycle helmet than someone that has a motorcycle? I can tell you from experience it really sucks to go back to your machine to find your helmet is gone. Never mind tampered with.

For me, my stuff goes where I go. If I'm gonna be wandering around a lot then I bring a pair of walking shoes and a backpack and my helmet and boots get stuffed into or attached to the backpack.

I do the same thing with anything I have. I make up my own mind with the situation at hand. Try it, you'll like it.

Bike is always parked where I can see it.
I am not nieve and trust fellow riders.
However, my helmet is with me at all times.
Throw my jacket over the front of the bike and nobody has ever touched it.
