Crap I spilled my oil what now?

I did a major oil change which included cleaning the filter. I took the cap off of the new bottle to put some oil on the drain plug. Stupid me, I didn't put the cap back on the bottle. I was torquing the drain plug and I some how I tipped my new oil over and spilt it. Being Canada day am I SOL until tommorow? The weather is great and I am missing out. :(

how big is the oil spill? just try using dish detergent and scrub.
 
Sorry to hear about your mishap.
I don't know if it's possible for you (not sure what your workspace is like) but I have an old rug in my garage that way it catches most of any type of spilling I may do. I stapled a sheet of plastic underneath it so that a bigger blotch of oil doesn't soak through and stain my garage anyways.
Works pretty well, but it isn't 100% though. When i'm done with it, I roll it up and throw it out.
Best place to get carpets is from houses that are being renovated. Nothing beats free!
 
Make up the difference with water. ;)

But I think I have like a spare litre of T6 somewhere lying around

I thought that was obvious. I guess I wasn't clear enough. Honda is closed like most stores for Canada Day. Some places like Bass pro have tourist status. Not sure if they sell oil though.

If you're foaming at the mouth to ride today, dump your used oil back in. It won't hurt anything.

I am in Barrie. I want to go to wasaga/collingwood on my bike. Wasaga is a tourist spot and will definately have someone open who sells the oil I need but no way to get it. This is where shell ticks me off. Why can't they sell 1 litre bottles of their rotella t6 at their gas stations. Looks like I am SOL until tommorow.

i have some t6 lying around but barrie is way out of the way. sorry, wish i could help.
 
Canadian tire is open in Alliston, I was there this morning at 10am

im in barrie, got a case of amsoil full syn in the garage.. could sell a few litres if you need. let me know.
