so, icon jean are like $100ish
sartso jeans are about $190
draggin jeans are about $200

does it mean draggin jeans protect better than icons due to price tag?

I think that most riding jeans are offer good abrasion protection but offer very little impact protection of the knees, shins, hips and tailbone. I have a pair of JR Jeans but am now considering getting some under armor to wear under the Jeans. like these http://www.bohn-armor-pants.com/catalog/

I know that BMW offer a nice pair of Jeans with all the usual protection and maybe a better value than getting the Jeans plus the bohn armor under armor so you may want to look at them for $350.

Sorry for the hijack, but it would also be interesting to hear comments from anyone who has or is using the Bohn armor riding pants with Jeans.

You can buy Draggin jeans on line for about $100 and I think the shipping was 15.00 to Canada USPS. Far cheaper than buying here. Have not had an opportunity to test them, but I believe STARSHIP's analysis is correct. Good abrasion protection only so I wear Forcefield knee pads under them for impact protection.

I've got the girly Shift Kevlar jeans and love that the jean portion of it is actually stretchy enough to span my wide load of an arse....however, I'm not so sure it's the "safest"

Draggin' jeans look good, their test vids are a good testament to that...but well they just ain't made for girls of my shape and size i guess *shrug*

Where can you find them for $100?

Draggins literally saved my *** once.. After a bit of stitching, I'm still wearing them. Would have avoided a bruised knee if I had worn the knee pads that I bought to go along with it.

I have a pair of the green Camo draggin jeans and absolutely love them ... they are comfortable in any riding temperature and are loose enough to not be binding while riding ... I don't wear regular jeans to ride ever anymore. Not too mention that they are brightly coloured and definitley provide visibility on the road.

I read a lot of negative reviews of Draggin Jeans. Most of what I read said they didn't have enough coverage and that their kevlar burns through a lot faster than some other brands and a lot faster than they claim.

I've never tried them but when I did some searching Hood Jeans (from the UK) apparently have some kind of better kevlar technology that doesn't burn through like the Draggin reviews said they did.

It really depends on the gsm of the Kevlar which is a thickness/density measurement (grammes per square metre) of fabric. Most companies to save cost will use lower gsm 80 or 120 gsm kevlar in the jeans. The higher the gsm of the kevlar the stronger it is. Another feature lacking in most cheaper Kevlar jeans is the lack of armour protection at the knees and hips your high impact areas. It is impractical to include hard armour but soft CE approved armour at the knees and hips with a higher gsm kevlar inside is what makes seperates a good Kevlar jean from a great one. Denim is quite sturdy as long as it is between 10-14 oz or higher denim. I hope this helps.

i found bohn armor pants pretty useless. they move around on impact. have switched to Knox strap on knee armour. MUCH better than Bohn Armor.

Have a pair of joe rocket steel lined jeans.

Bought them from Kahuna on closeout for $50 all in.

Just took a low speed lowside (25-30km/h). Held up great. Banged up my knee a bit (no armour) but didn't deteriorate at all really. Have a tiny hole in them now, but I have a feeling they caught on something during the skid, not that they wore through.

My hubby bought bull-it jeans from Royal. He seems to like them. They have women's jeans too, but I'm not liking the cut of them so much.Much thanks for this thread, as I am considering a pair of minx jeans from Draggin. I did buy Technic (sp?) pants with Knox armour inserts and 100% w6aterproof tho....Royal had them $250 marked down to $90 and then another 20% off so couldn't pass them up :).So here's a question from a new rider...Kevlar jeans under the Technics too much? Just askin'...

Velocity Sportsgear had a group buy a bit ago for jeans. The sample was well made with soft armor. I'm waiting and looking forward for the order to come in still so I can get my pair!
