EV is 1.6m.
Hybrid is 1.4m
 
Huge difference in used / new prices b/w Canada and the US (especially on the used market).

Anyone know if the warranties transfer over to Canada from Ford or Chevrolet specifically? I can always sell the GTI here, and then go buy a car in the US and transfer it over, but wouldn't do that without warranty available.

Most manufacturers are intentionally aholes about this. Not only do you not have a warranty in canada on a US sourced cehicle, they also void the US warranty upon export so you can't even tow it over to get service.

Sons of b....

I emailed both Chevy and Ford just to confirm their stance, as some people claim Chevy honours it.

I would never buy such a car without a valid warranty, but the price difference (even after exchange rate) is massive and def worth it.

I would be ok with no warranty in Canada as technically Ford US and Ford Canada are separate companies. Burning the existing warranty is just punitive and a prick move.

Yes it's too bad. It's not only the most expensive in terms of cost to acquire, but also to keep.

Oh funny story...Mississauga is now 'high risk' for ALL cars within it's borders. So there's a 15% discount on the comprehensive value of an insurance policy.

On a Bolt...that's about $238/year so it's not a lot, but much higher on the Mach-E.

Basically....'lots of stolen cars in Mississauga, you live in Mississauga, and don't matter if your car is in the top 10-25 of stolen cars...here's an additional charge'.

'Oh you live in Mississauga, have a top 25 stolen car? and don't have a third party immobilizer? Cool...now bend over!'.

What about importing and then buying an aftermarket warranty?

i'm sure part of the reason is that the warranties are not necessarily the same. Corrosion protection, etc.

I bought an extended warranty on my new bike through the dealer, but only because it's underwritten by iA which is actually a big reputable company...the same one who adminstrates my wife's benefits (and those of tens of thousands of others in the same field) for that matter. There are generally good solid postiive reviews for people who have actually had to claim on that warranty online as well, so that was another positive.

However, if it was one of those Lubrico or other fly by night extended warranties, I'd have skipped it in a heartbeat - I agree most are junk, the only exceptions being the ones provided by the manufacturers themselves.
 
I took a lot of flak when i bought the Ural from a company that was based in Russia.I hope buying an ev from China (the two Michaels?) is not the same as supporting Putin.

The two Michaels.. were spies.. that got caught spying in a foreign country. They weren't innocent civilians.
It also appears their release was delayed at the request of people in our government for political reasons.
I don't know why you would consider them when deciding what to buy.. nor give a crap about the opinion of anyone that would try to give you flak for it.
