The Mazerunner - not bad entertainment, and I see what they try and do with the story. Give it a 7/10.

For anyone that's seen Cube, you'll figure out what's up in no time. I feel like they started well and had a good base, but then feels like the studio got involved and kept screaming "sequel" and "franchise" at the producers until they dumped the movie ending into the film. It's not a bad sunday afternoon nothing-better-is-on-tv watch.

It's based on a three book series. No producer these days wants to base a movie on a YA novel unless it's part of a series, for the sequel potential.

Cool. Didn't know about the 3 book series. The first 80% of the movie didn't seem to jive with the last bit. Production value was there, wasn't that cheesy.

Thought maze runner was stupid. Hoping Equalizer is better.
I'm actually interested in seeing Maze runner ..... it got better reviews then most of those other "teen book" movies. I didn't watch any of the hunger games though, only the first harry potter, and saw Divergent which sucked so not really into that genre generally. I DID read Ender's Game and then saw the movie and kinda enjoyed the book and kinda enjoyed the movie though probably only cause I read the book. Movie wasn't that great on it's own.

If you haven't already, watch Cube http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0123755/

Boyhood[/B]. GREAT movie! Feels very........real. As a dude I could relate to a lot of the scenes in the movie and I imagine that most men (and possibly even some women) will feel the same. It was very cool just watching all the characters literally change and well....grow up (not just the children). The only bad part of the movie is that everything just kinda flies by so we don't really get the emotional impact of any of the more major events (break ups, etc.) and I felt like the kid was very average which, I guess makes him very relatable, but at the same time even my own childhood was more ****ed up then this kid's. Still highly recommended.

Will have to agree on this one.
Boyhood is an amazing and exceptionally difficult to make a masterpiece. Not because of the effects used, but rather because they had to cover 12 (!) years of shooting.
I'm yet to see another film like this.
A must see.

Fury - it was ok but not one I'd watch again.

Not that I think the Hungry Games are all that great, but Divergent was abysmal in comparison.

I really liked the low budget film festival flick "Coherence" : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2866360/

And if you like time-bending/time-looping/time-travelling movies definitely check out TimeCrimes if you haven't seen it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0480669/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Another time travelling flick just released to DVD, Predestination:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2397535/

And another interesting time bending movie is Triangle:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1187064/

Grand Budapest Hotel was fun, even has Dafoe as nasty biker dude...on an R12, with skis no less.

You gotta like Wes Anderson's stuff though....not for everyone.

Yes, Triangle was good, but a bit too unreal in terms of a regular person ever finding himself in the similar situation.
Watch Coherence. It's on the other hand is pretty damn realistic and mind twisting. A very real world like story!

To add further into the playlist: "Another Earth", and "I Origins".

And for something completely different, I'm a big fan of movies like Baraka: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103767/ and Microcosmos: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117040/
I've been meaning to watch Baraka for a long time........will have to get to it some time. I really enjoyed Koyaanisqatsi:

And nice of you guys to mention Triangle right after I mentioned it and everyone ignoring my post. ;)

It's supposed to be similar to Time Crimes. Unfortunately the only copy I could find of Time Crimes has no english subtitles.

Also, this is probably the most "shocking" horror movie I've ever seen (Martyrs):

Oh, and here is another one for the horror/comedy fans. Dead Snow 2 is out on video and it's fan-****ing-tastic. It's campy but in a way that's not overly cheesy (except for the Star Wars references which get a bit much....you'll see what I'm talking about). It's seriously one of the best horror-commedies I've ever seen. Up there with Army of Darkness. Pretty much 10/10 for me.

How would you compare it to the original? I didn't really like that one.
